Do you guys think that the device Kat made fits into the keyhole on the handcuffy thing? Or is that too obvious? That would certainly be tidy, but it doesn't look like she is still holding it. I would guess it remained in the dinghy with their mundane bodies. Good point. I'm wondering if she could just make it appear since she's holding it IRL. Man, chapter's already off to a good start. We need Rey to pop in to pick the lock (dis is joke).

All this talk of Renard picking locks! we will have to get Renard in there too... When I clicked that Link, I expected this scene. Ripping a ward off isn't dissimilar to picking locks. Almost like a metaphor.

Hello, long time lurker here, wanted to point out a few things that seem to have been missed. It's ambiguous whether Kat is saying Annie looks terrific or terrified. Probably the latter, given that Kat seems unimpressed, but still. Second, the composition. In panel 1 (not counting the inset) they are facing each other with the elf in the middle, kind of like a treatise. The walls are circular and it looks like the space isn't very big at all. All three times we see Annie there's a plunging vertical shadow on the wall the makes her feel boxed in (see her left hand in panel 1). In the last two panels, we have symmetry, but A&K are separated by the panel boundary, reinforcing the disconnect. The fact that there are panels and right angles at all is striking, compared to the previous two pages: full-page spreads, with characters appearing multiple times, dominated by acute angles. This plays in to how Kat is seeing this situation as orderly and linear. It's all about perception: notice how Kat uses the word look twice, both times in the sense of "appear to be". Finally, the color of the manacles matches that of the Elf's angry etheric projection, suggesting what Annie was fighting is part of the arrow and that the original elf still "exists" somehow.

My recommendations for Chapters would be "A Bad Start" and "Give and Take". The first one shows the first appearance of her symbol in-comic - which is later verified and accepted by the Realm of the Dead. In the next one, the Robots witness her performing her first "miracles": she read the code for the robots that no one else should've been able to comprehend, and even managed to bring one of Diego's old machines back to life. These two chapters, in particular, also predate "Divine", which is the one where Zimmy first sees Kat as the mecha-deity. Those two events in particular, I would argue, are her first steps towards some etheric attachment and her beginning to ascension. Robot refers to Kat as an angel way back in chapter 12, when they first meet. The panel appears to be shot from Robot's perspective and Kat appears human, but it's possible he's seeing her "mecha-deity" form. So that implies that she's always been this way, not something she developed over the comic. (But wasn't there something where Robot refers to Kat as growing more beautiful by the day? Has anyone transcribed all the dialog into a searchable text format?)

Neat! I didn't manage to find what I was thinking of... maybe I'm misremembering.

The GKC court index isn't the fully transcribed pages, it's more about tagging all the important items and people in each page for easier reference.

I thought the text was searchable on there, too

Being left out when your friends have really trippy visions: there are significant upsides.
