If memory serves right. This is the first in a while we actually saw some good An and Reyn interaction. Ever since that particular chapter, we had the Red chapter, Ann's past and now trying to make Robots new body.

I'd say they got closer since the Coyote incident. Still waiting for my "Ann visits the forest chapter". Coyote invited Ann and even Jones says she should go.

I just now noticed the collar of Annie's jacket. That is easily one of my least favorite fashion trends, but Annie actually makes it look good.

As for Rey, he is being nicer to her in a way, but I wouldn't put it beyond him to be doing all this just to get on Annie's good side so he can stab her in the back as soon as the contract of ownership is up. Until he starts giving Annie the information she wants or shows some remorse for trying to possess her, I don't trust him any farther than Annie can toss him.

His actions seems to imply that he considers it is wrong of them to insult Annie -- that Annie should not be insulted. That kind of thinking implies some level of respect. I wouldn't trust him either, but I don't think he's being devious here. He honestly seems to care that those guys are insulting Annie.

We already suspect that Reynardine has formed some sort of connection with Annie based on Coyote's insinuation way back when that points to Annie being one of the primary reasons for Reynardine's lack of enthusiasm in escaping. Tom's comment indicates that, despite Reynardine's protest, Coyote is hitting pretty close to home. We also know that Reynardine had some sort ofconnection with Surma.

His increasingly defensive attitude about Annie is likely due, in part, to the fact that she is Surma's daughter and, apparently, is a great deal like her mother.
