Ouch. That was painful to read. How long has she had to deal with stuff like this?

All through school, would be my guess. High achievers are often very lonely... often they take to clamming up and sitting on their scores to avoid classmates tearing them down. I suppose that's the case in schools everywhere, sadly.

After awhile of that you stop being proud of when do well and just guilty for being smarter than everyone else.
On a lighter note, I like the designs of Kat's (meanie) classmates. =P

Nothing to add about Kat's classmates.
Stars have been a recurring motif in the comic. I think this is the first appearance of a star in a scene without Antimony.

T.T No faiiir
I know the feeling, but it was mostly with homework and stuff... I remember my classmates looking at me like "dude, if the teacher says nothing about homework, don't go and turn yours in"...
Lovely drawings, Kat looks specially cute there... and she had to withstand that for like half a year or something, until Annie showed up... I wonder if she went to talk to annie by herself because she felt that she was lonely too, or did Anja had something to do with it.

It's nice to see that Kat is not just clamming up, but snapping back a bit. She's never seemed like the type to go turtle, of course.

Is it just me or does this chapter kind of feel disjointed? I was going through from the beginning and it kind of flows weird...
But it may just be me...

Anachronic order will do that.
I trust it will flow better when the chapter is finished. Then we can read it all in one sitting and get the big picture.

Where I went to school, all these types of people always band together and form their OWN clique Is it just me or does this chapter kind of feel disjointed? I was going through from the beginning and it kind of flows weird... But it may just be me... well it's not too hard to tell if it's a flashback or not thankfully...

The flow is weird but the single pages are all the better.

I don't know if that's Janet, but I DO spy a young Winsbury glaring at Kat's starred paper.

I do believe that that is indeed Janet.

It can't be Janet; her hair-style's different. Janet's hair is a lot longer.

Janet has longer hair, but this is a flashback so it's possible she grew it out since then. And the part in both girls' hair is identical.
Janet also has green eyes, but maybe we're just not close enough to see them in today's page.
Either way, someone asked in the Questions For Tom thread, so we'll know for sure pretty soon.
