I recently came across a song my friend's uncle knows (He's Scottish) called Annan Water. In the lyrics I found some interesting things, one of which was a woman named Annie of whom the main character seems to be in love with. Anyway the song goes something like this man is trying to cross the water or whatnot to get to his Annie but he ends up dying while trying to cross and never seeing his Annie again. I was just thinking, what if the Grey Lady is the "Annie" at the other end of the water, what if she has some strange connection to our Annie simply by name magic alone? Also at the end of the song there is a statement that a bridge will be made to cross the Annan Water so that the man and woman's true love will never be severed. Perhaps there is some connection between this song and our beloved Gunnerkrigg Court? Any thoughts? Link to the song lyrics: www.mudcat.org/@displaysong.cfm?SongID=8100

I believe this has been previously mentioned somewhere in the depths of the forum.

I think Kate Rusby covered that song on her album Hourglass. The same album has a song called "Sir Eglamore". Yes, Tom Siddell is a fan of Ms. Rusby.
Thanks for sharing this. I knew of the song, but hadn't had a chance to read the lyrics.

As I mentioned elsewhere, I bet the lady is in some way related to Surma or mediation, as she is stuck in the middle.
