If anyone has issues with the combinations used, I am open to suggestions.
I didn't make all these up, by the way.

Can someone tell me why "I think Annie and Mort would make a nice couple" isn't as good as "Anmorttimomerny".
I guess what I'm trying to say is this thread is very close to containing enough nonsense Inter-lingo to be deleted.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that these portmanteau terms for relationships are getting out of hand.

All of them.
Love fest yay!
(Though I do have affection for Annie/Renardine and Annie/Kat... neither of which are up there! Sacrilege!)

Philweasel - I wasn't going to be the first to point out the lack of Annie/Kat...because I suspect it was done on purpose.
Or that I don't understand half the stuff here. Flasimir?

Relation*ship*.
Yeah, I don't understand why they chose to go with that and not stick with 'favourite couple'.

Relation*ship*. Yeah, I don't understand why they chose to go with that and not stick with 'favourite couple'. Maybe they're too lazy to write two multi-syllable words. (And I still have a hard time imagining Annie getting romantically involved with *anybody*. Annie being at the receiving end of a crush, on the other hand - such as Mort's - that I can easily believe.)

"The English have no respect for their language, and will not teach their children to speak it."
This thread would make George Bernard Shaw very disapointed. (Google Pygmalion if you don't understand the above)
Anyway, I'm going to have to go with Parley's relationship - comedy gold.

There's another few about English being (a) a bastard language and (b) a language that mugs other languages.

"The English have no respect for their language, and will not teach their children to speak it." This thread would make George Bernard Shaw very disappointed. (Google Pygmalion if you don't understand the above) Anyway, I'm going to have to go with Parley's relationship - comedy gold. You know, for a while my family thought we were related to Sabine Baring-Gould, part of the inspiration for Pygmalion. Then I think we gave up on the idea. Maybe it was because we found out he had like twenty kids and let a bat ride on his shoulder. Or something. Also, people obviously use the word "ship" here because it's the internet! And the rule of the internet is: dnt type 2 mny letas u myt use dem al up!11!

I don't mind the term 'ship', but compound words speak of the inane giggling of vapid 14 year old girls and makes me feel somewhat dirty in the process.

The word ship/shipping, while that probably wasn't the case when it was first coined, has different connotations than the phrase "favourite couple". In particular, it often refers to absurd couplings and the people that 'ship' for a certain couple constantly see (in the weirdest places) indications that that couple is getting together and can't stop talking about it. (or, in one word, "internet") What I'm saying is; if it's a seperate phenomenon, why not give it a seperate name? Agreed on the compounds being absurd by the way.

I seem to have initiated some somewhat hostile feelings, mainly towards myself. Whoops.
I agree that this poll is a little on the completely ridiculous side, and I'll go ahead and take the hint to never ever do it again.
Luck: pushed.
Edit: The compounds were meant to be parody, by the way.
