I think I'd notice if a frilly pink lamp appeared out of nowhere and started listening in on my conversations.

I'm good. I talk to the furniture all the time. I just had a refreshing conversation with a bathroom stool about the negative impact of biofuels on global food supplies. I'm going to be commited next week.

Not to mention there's no reason for a lamp like that to be standing right there in the hallway in any case.

All right, all right, I have a lack of observational skills. xD

Coyote said that no harm would come to Annie - but trust a trickster to find a loophole there. Say (though this is a bit of a stretch, I'll admit), since Annie's the visitor, if she suffers any harm, it'll be "she comes to the harm". Or what he's planned for her might not be officially considered harm (as in subtle manipulations, for example).
I still suspect that the real reason why Coyote's invited her to the forest is that he's recognized that there's a link between her and Reynardine, and that if he wants Reynardine to leave the school and return to the forest, he needs to do something about Annie first.

Annie never mentioned to Jones that Coyote promised her safety. Hmm... (Or maybe she did, and it just happened off-scene. But that explanation is boring.) Still, if Jones, with all her experience with the Woods, is assured by Coyote's promise, then I doubt Coyote will be pulling any "literal words" crap. That is, assuming she isn't actually Coyote's mole in the Court.

I just had a refreshing conversation with a bathroom stool about the negative impact of biofuels on global food supplies. I'm going to be commited next week. That bathroom stool is a fool (can't think of a good word) then; it's easier to increase our food supplies and workable land for food, that to keep polluting the enviroment... haven't you noticed that poles are melting? In other stuff, Mort is sooo awesome, that pannel where it leans over to see Jones leaving is so funny... and why hasn't the link to the top of the chapter being published yet? I don't know what's gonna happen in the forest, but I don't think it would be real soon, so let's wait to see what happens

Let's gush about the art for a second here: I just love Annie's expression in the last panel. The cocked eyebrow, the sly smile. It just looks and feels right. It's the perfect 'gotcha' expression.

Just hit me, Annie knows that Y's was lying about the bird, so she has her reasons to be suspicious regarding the people in the forest

I don't know what's gonna happen in the forest, but I don't think it would be real soon, so let's wait to see what happens We already know from Tom that the next chapter will be about Kat, so Annie won't be venturing into Gillitie Wood until Chapter Nineteen, at the earliest. Oh, and a happy St. George's Day to the cast of "Gunnerkrigg Court" (though I don't know how many of them are English - we know that Kat's part-Scottish, for a start), to Tom, and everyone here from England!

I'm honestly becoming increasingly skeptical that she's even human.

We already know that coyote is after Reynardine, so it could be a ploy to get her to bring him along.
I wonder if there is some kind of building the forest people dwell in, or if they will simply meet in some kind of clearing (or not-so-clearing). The shadows and fairies don't appear to have houses, and neither coyote nor ysengrinn seem to need one. But there isn't anything that makes one area of densely packed trees more impresive than another (unless Ysengrinn made fancy, impressive-looking trees).

I'm honestly becoming increasingly skeptical that she's even human. Becoming skeptical? I've been doubting that she's human ever since she blocked a sword with her face.

And the way in which she talks about the people of Gunnerkrigg as if she wasn't one of them. (And she talks about the people of Gillitie in the same way, though that doesn't stand out as much, since she looks like a human.)
I definitely suspect that Coyote's real reason for inviting Annie into the forest is to remove her hold over Reynardine so that he'll leave the school. I wonder if Jones suspects that.

Mezzaphor: I would've capitalised the words sword and face in that sentence... just to be sure.
