I think it'd be more likely that Eglamore would have sharp words for Anthony, should he ever reappear. Let us hope a scuffle does not ensue. I think sharp swords are much more likely than words, from what we've seen of Eglamore's feelings so far. I do think that Anthony will eventually reveal himself ("return isn't quite the right word, considering I think he's around someplace, keeping an eye out), and expect joy from Annie. But why should she show him joy? Basically, to her, he's a complete stranger. Ties of blood mean very little, emotionally, without ties of knowledge.

Hurray for the Metal Gear games!!!
I think the court is a place where they train young gods. Antimony is the God of Justice, Kat is God of Technology, Janet is god of Music, Winsbury is God of Attempting to be Evil, Zimmy is God of Death, And Gamma is God of Peace.

Winsbury is God of Attempting to be Evil Or God of Seeming To Be What You Are Not (would that be God of Facetious..ness?) And the Teachers are the previous generation of Gods. The Suicide Fairies are attempting to become Gods. They've done so much good in life that if they die, they'll be exalted to Godhood, but they can't commit suicide (it's a sin in most religions) so they have to get someone to kill them.

Maybe Winsbury is God of Disguise. Mort is the God of Tricks and Practical Jokes (A nice Loki)

Annie said he was a doctor at the hospital, and implied she saw him while she was there. (see #26)

"seeing" him isn;t really the same as knwoing him as a father. WE never see him in any of the flashbacks (not that we've had many) and that's smells significant to me.

I see Annie as reacting to him the same as she reacts to All of the teachers around the school, cool and reserved.

Yeah, that's what I mean. It won't be what he's expecting from her.
Unless he gets her drunk on cherries, and then she may let loose some of her anger/greif at his abandonement or her joy at meeing him.

Actually, If Surma reacted to his journey's with cool/reserved and if he knows how much Annie is like Surma he may very well expect that.

Do we know that she does? I mean I know that Eglamore think's Annie's like Surma, and the other teachers....but how much of that is looks and how much personality?
(This isn't actually a challenge, but an actual question. I don't remember learning that.)

That si why I said IF. I think a fair amount of the similarity is personality, like when she defends Reynardine from the Teachers, and they comment that that was a very Surma like thing.

But it could be the bravery that is Surma's. Bravery doesn't have anything to de with being dispassionate.
I prefer to believe that Annie isn't a carbon-copy of Surma. (Unless they're the same person.)

I'm not saying that she is a clone of Surma, I just think that a lot of their reactions to things are the same.

Yeah, we really don't know enough about Surma yet to determine if the incident with the teachers represented the only thing Surma and Annie have in common or not. But given that Annie was pretty much raised by Surma apart from other children, it seems reasonable to believe she would have picked up a great deal of Surma's mannerisms, even without any special connection between the two.
Edit: That's pretty much meant as an agreement to what you both have been saying.

I agree mrw, if the only role model's you have are your mother and a bunch of spirit guides, and your mother also had the spirit guides as a rolemodel, you are probably going to end up a lot like her. She doesnt seem to have had any other people to base her personality on except the sick/dead people at the hospital.
Edit: We are starting to repeat ourselves.

How do we not know that Anthony and Surma are a lot alike in personality and everybody who's known them just thinks Annie takes after Surma because she's a girl?

We, that is mrw, owl and myself, all seem to think alike so we have a lot of the same opinions and all we can do is theorize until every branch of that particular tree of thought is exhausted and then pick a new tree. Time to pick a new tree people, I vote for that qhite birch on the far side of the lot.
I reallly need to get some sleep.
What if Zimmy is some sort of Fallen Angel that is trying to ascend unto heaven. Every time that cleansing rain comes, she gets closer to heaven.

What if Zimmy is some sort of Fallen Angel that is trying to ascend unto heaven. Every time that cleansing rain comes, she gets closer to heaven. That's a neat idea. Gamma would be her guide then. Kind of like, well, a guardian angel. Edit: I've still got homework to do. GC is hurting my grades. Happy dreams, Rasta!

If Gunnerkrigg were heaven, who would be god? The Very Nice Man?

Post by owl on Feb 14, 2007 3:53:47 GMT
No, he'd be more like that one Angel that keeps ALMOST being thrown out, but not quite.
Whoever made te Tic-Tocs, maybe?

Good question. The Very Nice Man could be the devil. My vote is for Gamma. She's god, incognito. (I just *love* Gamma! ;D )
Edit: Aw, dang. We're repeating again. Didn't Rasta cover the god angle near the top of the page? (Got it really well, too!)

Hoomft. Let's try this: Perhaps Gunnerkrigg is actually a veeeery normal school, except it's infested with a hallucinogen-producing fungus that everyone breathes accidentally, causing them to believe these strange things are happening.

We may have been around this loop too. I know we've been to "We're hallucinating the comic", this just seems like an interim step.
And we've covered godS, not really God, yet. But I guess we just did.
Okaaaayyy, letss talk about.....
It's a videogame! Each character is a player, and they have to make the world up as the go along! That's why there are so many mysteries, because the players haven't figured it out yet! And they're not allowed to talk to each other about it, so it's confusing and weird. Except they're really good at it, because it mostly makes some sort of coherent sense.

I want to go to THAT school. Sounds interesting.
Come to think of it, if GC really existed, I'd want to go there too. Cool bunks and all, you know...
Edit: The video game theme. I guess Kat's most likely to break out, Matrix style.

Ewwwwww...... ;D
Does that mean there's other schools that are for other bacteria? Our bodies are merely worlds on which they can live.
Tom Siddell is some sort of size-changing superhero who goes as a journalist to observe these bacteria and record their lives in images and words we can understand.
