Am I the only one who is bothered by how seemingly short-lived that meeting was? I assumed that the end panel from the last page and the beginning panel of this page indicated a time-skip. It wouldn't be the first time Tom's ended a scene with a Silent Scenery Panel. See [268] and [289].

I think that Mezzaphor's right here; the bulk of the class simply happened off-stage, and nothing in it was important enough to show us.

unlikely that jones asked, even then it implies a casual peer type relation As per this page, Jones does not seem to have a second name. So calling her Mrs Jones is like calling someone Mr. Bob. Someone introducing themselves as Mr Bob would seem odd. By extension it must seem odd to Jones to be called Ms. Jones and she probably introduces herself to everybody simply as Jones.

There could be (or could have been at one point or another) two Mr. Eglamores which required them to differentiate themselves. I assumed her name was Josephine Jones but I guess Jo could be short for Jones. She could have a name like George.

Hadn't thought of that. Yeah, it's a possibility.
