I have a theory that Mort is Martin from Chapter Sixteen (their names sound so much alike, for one thing), but we don't have any hard evidence for that yet.

Parley always has to be the center of attention.

I think Parley is just being over-enthusiastic and those flashes are supposed to show that she's concentrating really hard, trying to force her dormant psychic abilities to surface (and of course failing completely).

Parley is hysterical and Mort is even more so! The expressions are priceless. I don't think Parley is going to be very happy when she finds out that Annie can do this exercise better than her... she seems like the jealous type.

Oh George, how you make me chuckle so. I can only imagine the look on her face next panel, when Mort and Annie are chatting along happily. Jones probably takes it without moving a muscle on her face, as with just about everything. I think Smit will be the one to actually say something, before introducing himself politely.

I think Parley may be more angry at the fact the Annie already knows mort. At least, that's the part I would get jealous about
