In St. Louis (my current residence), the groundwater is quite tasty - because it's filled with lead

Indeed. He says "show yourself" while Renard is already showing his plushie butt. That could fail even if he was actually forced to obey Tony. Hmm, it looks like Anthony doesn't quite live up to the reputation of a guy who pays so much attention to details that he can't see forest behind all those leaves. Did he get more loose/sloppy, is he fake, or maybe Donald simply added extra wishful thinking on top in the first place? Didn't one of the characters mention somewhere that he has no patience for things related to the ether? Theres also the fact that the scientific approach hasn't always proven to be fully reliable when it comes to things related to the forest, and Anthony has pretty much been presented as a man of science. Theres probably a ton of possibilities he hasn't considered simply because hes out of touch with it.

Didn't one of the characters mention somewhere that he has no patience for things related to the ether? Which matters exactly why? His own tongue is etheric, or what? Its explained in the rest of my post, which you conveniently cut off. Hes probably tired of things related to the ether not making sense scientifically, which is probably why his approach seems so blunt in comparison to his other actions.
