See, it's like I said. Lasers. And Annie is still calling her Miss Jones. And Parley has forgiven Annie's faux pas.

I cant wait for monday. This is gonna be sweet.
For one thing, Parley Parley has completely forgotten about Annie's stab at James and is pretty much gone into "Children with Candy" mode.
Mr Eglamore on the other hand..... Man. The dude looks a little worried.
So there's room for speculation: What kinda fighting does Jones use? Locks and grappling? Punch and kicks? Is it even a martial art?
I only noticed this after a second glance. Did Jones just segue the conversation into a challenge against Eglamore pretty much to get Annie out of the awkward place she was in?

I imagine Eglamore evoking his best Yosemite Sam impression when he says "Them's fightin' words," It's pretty funny.
I think he looks less worried and more like he's preparing himself mentally for his inevitable butt-whoopin'

She's going to have a magic sword. Obviously.

I doubt magic. a magic user may hold their own against a sword fighter, but would that kinda thing impress Parley Parley? (say Aragorn went toe to toe with Gandalf, Gandalf wins, but it aint exactly a proper spar)

Oooh excitement! I was sure this was a match we would never see! Thank you, Jones, for insisting! Now what does she mean by "It wouldn't be a REAL match, I can make it quick"?? It DOES sound like she will use some kind of magic... As opposed to only physical force of a "real match"? I love how relaxed and jokey Eggers is about it. Willing to go along with anything Jones wants And all this leads me to conclude that medium training WILL involve sword fights, even for Annie... And I have a feeling she won't be terribly good at it.

Whatever she does, it won't be high-flying martial arts moves. She may have taken off her jacket, but she's still wearing a quite tight skirt, which would seriously impair her mobility. I'm really looking forward to this!

yeah...and no way she's taking that off Skirt could impair mobility...but depending on her style of fighting that could matter very little.. 1. Magic: ...why do you need to move 2. Grapling moves: Better to stay put and wait for oponnent to get closer.. 3. Ninja: ...uhmmm, would that be real ninja? or Naruto like? Either way, that would make her difficult...lots of movement there... AND they said no swords...maybe she uses other kind of weapon (not magic swords)... something smaller and more easy to hide on those clothes of hers...

Well, I was wrong about Jones having faerie dots. I guess in the next comic we'll be treated to one or more of the following: 1. Jones taking off her tube skirt, as well. 2. Jones morphing into something badarse: a weretiger, a dragon... 3. Jones materializing a magic weapon/field of force. Any of these would be awesome And then, most likely: 4. None of the above (but still cool).

What kind of disturbs me is that Parley apparently already knows how Jones fights. That must mean they've done this before.

"1. Jones taking off her tube skirt, as well." Rofl xD
Anyway: I think that no matter what, the next comic ends in an explosion. There have been too few explosions, and I think that this will finally correct that.

She's going to have a magic sword. Obviously. A sword like the ghost-lady ? That would surely motivate Annie to take lessons in swordfighting ;D

After this demo fight, she will be next (as Parley's words insinuate). But it seems that whereas Eggers and Parley use swords, Jones (and Annie?) will have a different style. Can't wait to see the fight... ;D

I'm not even going to try to guess how Jones is going to fight without a sword - "Gunnerkrigg Court" has surprised me too many times for that. (To give one of the most recent examples: I thought that Martin's lizard would be just there for a moment to show that he liked spooking girls with creepy things and then disappear from the story after that - boy, was I ever wrong! It turned out to be far more important to that chapter than I'd expected.)

I don't even think the problem's how Jones is going to fight without a weapon... it's how she's going to fight Eglamore without a weapon. I mean, he's a big guy.

even big guys with swords are no match for lasers. This is the truth, of course. Then again, if it's lasers, why would Eglamore think he stands a chance at long range?

Then again, if it's lasers, why would Eglamore think he stands a chance at long range? he says outdoors at long range, and everyone knows that the only weakness of magic lasers is sunlight. This brings us to my theory that the shadow people are magic lasers cast by Coyote's extra eyes, and that Jones owns a pair of his eyes, which she got by trading away half her life, and no I am not stealing this from Death Note, that's silly, I've never even heard of Death Note.

The bigger, the funnier they fell to the ground I practice Aikido (Iwama Ryu) and it doesn't really matter how big/heavy your opponent is...just have to understand the physics of the movement, and use their energy to help you I think I have been sent flying away by girls half my weight (in turn, is very funny to send them flying too )

On a quick note... I noted lots of posts about Jones not liking Annie...
Love triangle blah blah blah...
But I had to stop and think and look over the comic again...
But does anyone think that Jones might be being a bit rude to her because she caught her cheating?
