Here you go.That was quite the About Face. It's a really cute panel. Nice to see the boy with a smile on his face and a lizard...thing in his hands. Not what I was expecting, but since when does Tom care for expectations?

seriously, this kid is all over the place. cute little lizardy thing though (if a little creepy)
random thought: do you think the bed is illusion too? if annie stood up before crawling out from under it, would she be standing through the middle of a bed?

That could happen. Or maybe if she touched the bed we would see something else entirely, judging by what happened to the boy's arm 2 strips ago. I don't think we'll really know how much of this is 'real' and what is just some strange illusion for at least a couple more days. I'm not even sure that older Annie really knows herself.

First thing I thought upon seeing this page was 'Eraserhead'.

This somewhat reminds me of that scene in sixth sense where that kid says "C'mon, ill show you where my dad keeps his gun."

Why do I get the feeling the kid is just not a doggy sort of person?

I wonder where the lizard came from. Maybe the ghost-boy has learned to conjure up things (the way Mort conjured up the bouquet in Chapter Four).
He seems to have forgotten in a hurry about what Annie did to his arm. On the other hand, this *is* a small boy we're talking about....

I don't trust that lizard thing one bit. It has Zimmy's eyes Being of the paranoid sort, I wouldn't trust anything a dead person showed me ... I think the room is exactly like Chapter 11, where Zimmy's struggle (sticking to a theme here) merged with reality, which I think other people have mentioned in the threads on this chapter; space doesn't exist in the same way, merely the boy's perception of what's going on. (Not that I'm suggesting it is Zimmy, or has anything to do with her, it just has red eyes like her, it could be, but I doubt it *shrug* )

While I imagine this has been discussed already (I've been ignoring threads here recently), I find it interesting how Annie projects a zone of reality around her, especially remembering her experience with Zimmy. Annie forces things back into focus, but the chaos that surrounded Zimmy was powerful enough to overwhelm that.
Leads me to wonder about Gamma. Is she a natural medium as well, and just happens to be so exceptionally powerful that she can shut down Zimmy's chaos just by being there, or is there something else going on? And is there any chance we will EVER find out?

And is there any chance we will EVER find out? Yes, and that just makes not finding out that much more frustrating.

huh, that's an...interesting creature. I would probably be freaked out by it, but knowing Annie, she'll probably just shrug it off.

If Annie's response to the Moddey Dhoo is saying "Oooh, a doggie" and playing with its tail, I doubt she'll be scared of the lizard-thing at all.

Maybe he is just projecting...or maybe the lizard thing is also dead....better is Annie doesn't touch it.

Dunno why, but I get the feeling that maybe, just maybe, the lizard thing may be a third guide trying to reel the boy in.

Of course, ithere's always the possibility that the lizard is in fact "the boy" that Matilda and Black Dog are squabbling over, and the kid - like the room - is just part of the psychic landscape. Well, odder things have happened so far

What kind of animal is that anyway? Seems a bit hairy for a lizard, not to mention the eyes are... a touch too big. The lack of a nose, weird lips and the arms do seem to point to lizard. I'm betting this is some animal the boy (subconsciously?) made up.
