Alas, one of my instructors has been pretty merciless about deadlines this close to the end of the term. I'm needing some more responses to the following survey, and as many as possible would be wonderful, even if you feel the subject doesn't entirely apply to you (the survey we've been given is just no good for statistics anyway). I feel kind of bad for posting this here but my options are running out, and I have no problems with this topic being deleted by Wednesday. Thank you!
--------
1. Do you listen to hip-hop?
2. If so, how much do you like it, on a scale of one to ten?
3. From the following list of names, pick which one you like the best (this is which station name works the best for you as a hip-hop station):
Vibe, Urban Emcee, Pulse, Yo, The Lo
4. Which of the abovelisted names do you dislike and why?
5. When you think of hip-hop, what sort of things come to mind?
6. What artists come to mind when you think of hip-hop?

1. Rarely. 2. In general? About a 3. Specific songs can range from a "negative infinity" (the misogynistic-I'm the king of the hood gangsta crap that was popular in the 1980s) to a 10 (Michael Franti, Ozomatli). 3. In order from best to worst: Vibe, Pulse, Yo, Urban Emcee, The Lo. 4. "The Lo" sounds too much like "The Down-Lo". There's nothing wrong with homosexuality; there's everything wrong with hiding it from your wife. 5. Bling, repetitive beats, rap, more repetitive beats, black urban. 6. Public Enemy, Run DMC, Eminem, OutKast, Kanye West. (Yes, I'm old.)

1. Do you listen to hip-hop? If it's on the radio or the music video channel, sure. But not out of my own choice.
2. If so, how much do you like it, on a scale of one to ten? 4.
3. From the following list of names, pick which one you like the best (this is which station name works the best for you as a hip-hop station): Urban Emcee and Pulse tied.
4. Which of the abovelisted names do you dislike and why? Vibe, because it is the name of a free sexual health clinic here in NZ.
Edit: And also I was in the pharmacy today, and they call vibrating..."protection" Vibe too. Yay!
5. When you think of hip-hop, what sort of things come to mind? That song I saw recently. With that guy singing something about baby, only it wasn't spelt baby. And he had it all over his clothes. Spelt that weird way. And all I kept thinking was "This is so stupid."
Also, videos with girls with big booties and next to nothing clothes. (Then I think about that bit on mean girls when that girls sister was copying people like that. Hah.)
6. What artists come to mind when you think of hip-hop? None, because I don't really listen to it and I don't really know the difference/relationship between hip hop and rap. Like the above person said some artists I would've thought were rap. But I have absolutely no idea. I try to stay away from hip hop in general so as not to highlight my immense lack of hip hop knowlege.
Also the name makes me laugh.
