I've been thinking about Kat the last few weeks in the context of the old nuclear scientists I've seen interviews with on tape; many of them were so wrapped up in the Absolutely Amazingly Cool Theory side of things that it never occurred to them to wonder or care what was going to be done with what they were building/developing. Needless to say, the Tellers of the world - and most definitely the Generals and Politicians - had no such limitations; for that matter, the Generals carefully made sure that the Einstein and Oppenheimer types who did have some scruples were kept as far out of the picture as possible. And here we have Kat happily building a sperm whale Because She Can (Wow!) *starry eyes*; happily, Our Heroine Paz WAS asking difficult questions, paying attention, and doing what needed to be done. Oooooohhhh, she's so cool, yay! To be fair to Kat - she *was* distracted by her ability to give the ship a new body, yes, but she was also intimidated by the Seraphs (not so much for herself, but fear that they might harm Paz).

That kiss was totally revenge for the robot's considering Paz's powers "no threat". No threat huh?? Time to break out my secret ability...

That's the second time KatPaz smoochies interfered with the robot ascension. Some bots might notice and take issue with such distractions to the angel_creator_kat. That was my fear earlier, but as far as we know only the Seraphs are that obsessed, and they may soon be an endangered species. In the future, Paz will get more nasty scratches from paperclips than anyone else she knows, and she won't know why.

All them ladies getting a fair share of hawt-strutting action today, folks!
Also, a very elegant manoeuvre by Paz with her Passion Kiss, a powerful cc specifically directed towards The Creator, Kat.

"You have interfered with our plans for the Creator one too many times Ms Paz, it would be a shame if anything were to accidently 'happen' to you..." "Ms Paz? No we absolutely did not fry her with laser eyes and blame it on the collapsing void. Absolutely not, no way siree. This is most definitely not me crossing my claws. Us robots sure are good at subtlety, right?"

Kat is abandoned now? Also, fierce Paz in panel 4 is hilarious. Oh man, I am not looking forward to the half-organic, half-robotic thing that could be coming out of that vortex... ...its final shape affected by the confused mental processes of Kat after she was distracted? Maybe the rest of those students don't need to see this... Just a thought.

Let's hope they're *not* abandoning Kat - it's not her fault that the Ship and the Seraphs decided to exploit her robot-building project, and while she did give in to the ship's demands, it was partly because the scientist in her was distracted by her new-found body-shaping abilities and partly under duress. It'd be as bad as - say- sacking Lindsey to make certain that the cruise ship's successor won't build up an obsession for her as well.

Yeah, better abandon ship instead.
... seriously, would you stay there?
