Presumably turning off the siphons would Un-Moses that patch of sea, which would have pretty ungood effects on those inside.

Or sending a blast of etheric energy at an etheric syphon isn't the best way to destroy it.

Each point ends in a siphon, but the hole hasn't pulled away from where the destroyed siphon used to be.

Whoa, that last panel is beautiful, and Antimony comes across as seriously badass.

From what I can tell they had to destroy a syphon to get in. I think the sky inside Zimmingham wasn't "open" until they exploded one of the syphons. The whole thing collapsing with them inside could be bad, this time they seem to be physically in Zimmingham, not just their minds.
The last panel is a new addition to my all time favourites.
EDIT: Did anyone else notice the pagelink at the top is wrong? It links to the previous page 1422.

POW!
Also since Kat is already halfway through making a new body for the ship, destroying the siphons might return them to the real world inside an abomination.

Except they don't know what's going on with Kat and Paz. In all the excitement, Annie and the rest could have forgotten about the ship's demand - and they weren't present to see Kat's new reality-shaping abilities.

Back to plan A. First find Zimmy. Chancellor Un-Moses, now my official word of the week Tom's comment is as mysterious as ever..

Back to plan A. First find Zimmy. Chancellor Un-Moses, now my official word of the week Tom's comment is as mysterious as ever.. I'd want to un-Moses Zimmy and Gamma first, as well. The siphons may keep Zimmingham more real(less dangerous), and cutting them off might lead to Nobodies, Mind-Spiders, and bleeding eyeballs... Perhaps, we'll have the image of their melting faces in our heads for Halloween. POW! Also since Kat is already halfway through making a new body for the ship, destroying the siphons might return them to the real world inside an abomination. Abomination is a relative term, especially in attracting Lindsey. A completed new body may return as a Giger reject, anyway.

I think Tom is having some pro-employer and anti-cat agenda of trying to turn us hate Fridays and love Mondays. If we are waiting for the Monday morning since Friday, he is very successful in that, whether it is intentional or not.

A possible explanation is that enough energy is left un-siphoned to sustain the unreality within a defined area, but not enough to lead to anything particularly grimdark. Problem with destroying the siphons in this scenario is if it leads everyone to end up in her mind instead of jumping back into reality straight away. croupier, triple on zimmingham nightmares irl, half-mutated capsizing roboship and other forms of mindscrewing

I'm sure she's using some sort of etheric boost in panel 2 there, but all I've got to say is DANG that's some good throwing there, Annie! Since we can't trust the perspective anymore in Zimmingham, we'll just have to go with what we can see in frame and assume that those are 7-storey buildings. At 3 meters per storey, that's about 21 meters to the top of the building, plus a little more past that to sea level to where she's hovering above. Say, 6 giraffes. It's certainly within the realm of possibility, but still very impressive! Even more so since Kat wasn't there to construct a robotic throwing device to provide the stone with transit to the ocean's surface.

inb4 Jack is working with the Seraphim.
But less conspiratorily, what another poster wrote about using etheric powers to destroy ether siphons being less than a good idea is probably why he's saying "wait".

That made me think of the Philadelphia Experiment, and the apocryphal stories of bodies being fused with the USS Eldridge's hull. That would be the worst field trip ever.

Well then again, both Anja and Annie have thrown the blinker stone so high above the court that they can create the Court Symbol to respond to the Forest Symbol. That appeared to be at least 14 giraffes or more!

But wait for what?EDIT: And now we have to wait till Monday to learn why. Fridaaaaaayssss. given their situation there are many reasons why to wait is a good idea: -as already mentioned using etheric energies to destroy an etheric siphoning device could be less than effective, or worse; -when in the middle of a dimensional anomaly destroying the device that keep that anomaly open could be... unwise; -even if destroying them would just bring them to the real world and not stick them in Zimmyngham, where are Kat, Paz and Zimmy? It would be better to find everybody before getting out; -and even if they are back to the real world would they still be on the ship? Or just appear in the middle of the ocean? Personally i think Kat is creating a new body, so the ship wold be still there, even if without a working AI, but it is still something that is worth to be sure about before doing something rush.

Personally i think Kat is creating a new body Not so likely, after Paz's question to the ship about its motives and its infatuation for Lindsey reminded Kat of the danger we're in, after her distraction over her excitement in her new abilities. But what I'd really like to know (and hope it'll be answered on Monday's page) is why the same guy who initially suggested shutting down the syphons is now apparently taking back that suggestion just a page later. Though Jack only said to shut them down, not destroy them, which aren't necessarily the same thing.

The two options that are (in my opinion) the most likely: 1) Shooting etheric fire at devices that are very good at soaking up etheric stuff might not do much 2) They need to make sure that everyone is currently "safe".
Annie would be a pretty good shot to hit the syphons from there.

Even given that dismantling a dam is a good idea, you'd generally prefer to drain the reservoir behind it first. (A few exceptions were made during WWII - but in those cases, the dams were in enemy territory.)
