I was thinking about how Gunnerkrigg Court is the only place you can find a love triangle between a giant crab monster with a PhD in Structural Engineering, a smaller psychic crab monster, and a sentient cruise ship when I noticed this. Reynardine was willing to possibly kill a man so that he would have the same kind of body as the woman he loved. The Ship is willing to put all the students at risk so that The Ship will become an organic creature like Lindsey. I wonder how well this arc will parallel Reynardine's actions and I wonder if this similarity will be commented on in the comic.

This is something I had noticed as well. The ship will do anything to win the love of whoever he's in love with by becoming more like them (in a physical sense). Renard had Coyotes help in obtaining his body-stealing powers. Likewise, the ship is seeking Kat (who is essentially regarded as divine) to make his desire come true. Renard did not know the magnitude of his powers--how it would render the shell lifeless the moment he left the body. And the ship doesn't know the effect of using Zimmy to become "flesh." They are beings tampering with a nature divergent from their own.

You won't find many comics/stories with such a cast anyway Good point. Maybe Rey will mention it later, but I doubt it. Also: welcome to the Forums!

Also, as noted earlier, this loveboat affair also perfectly parallels Diego's obsessive desire for Jeanne.
Let's hope Lindsey is not another victim of love like Jeanne or Daniel...

Renard did know that leaving the body would kill it. Renard tried to jump into Annie (and ended up in toy instead) Surma was toying with Renard's feelings in order to trap him in the court. Annie following her evil seductress mother's footsteps was faking liking Jack just to hurt his feelings, for revenge for when he was under control of spiders. Vultures, fiends, everywhere! Only Jeannie can be trusted. She died and we did nothing. But now she protects us. She is so beautiful!

I also like to describe the comic as the only piece of literature that has a gay shadow-robot romance I wouldn't be so sure. I suspect a thorough perusal of fanfiction.net would unearth a few dozen of those, that place is as close to a proof of the infinite monkey theorem as it gets. As a matter of fact, I wouldn't rule out finding something about boats and crabs, either.
