Zimmy is a gigantic power plant churning out magical energy essentially. That energy actively warps the world around here unless there is someone there to act as a 'power sponge'. What we seem to know right now, is that those able to tap into the 'ether' are able to absorb a great deal of that energy, or focus it in a safe manner. In other words, they want Kat to create an enormous blueprint for a robotic biomachine, which via controlled and sustained use of Zimmy's abilities could (they did say 'theoretically') replicate in the real world. The real worrying question is how they expect to enforce their compliance. Other than capsizing the passengers (or threats against Gamma) of course. The robots *think* she is a generator of raw energy, or some other wonderful product. Alternative explanation in your typical horror fantasy story is really opening a door to another dimension where evil monsters live and the evil monsters try to cross over into our world and at last minute the heroes usually manage to shut the door before total doom. (In other words not just the easy power or transportation system or other wonderful invention but instead body snatching/possessing evil alien super magic overlords... surprisingly lots of SF and fantasy stories and video games have this theme for at least one adventure) (Edit: googled to look up tv trope, here is the most common version: tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Hellgate)Magic energy can be controlled by magic computers designed by humans including Kat's parents. Magic energy can power magic based golems. Both are probably in reach of Kat and the robots given enough time. Robots probably have some crazy way to "speed up" the place of madness/invention. Beyond the problem of getting everyone to cooperate which is probably hard enough is the problem that Zimmy's power source comes with a form of "life but not as we know it" that is likely even more insane and evil than the worst of the robots, judging from the crazy Jack adventures... and they likely want to conquer/replace the world of humans and robots and forest.

Zimmy can communicate to Antimony Anthony and Kat without Gammy. And do other stuff. Can Gamma communicate telepathically without Zeta? Other than by talking? On her own Zimmy can communicate with nobodies and head-pigeons. Assuming she can remember which participant of the discussion she is, of course. Sounds like a round-about way of saying you agree..? So-o-o... any bets on who will quote Lindsey's first phrase? How about, "Since he can't swim fast enough to keep up on his own I was carrying Bud in one of my secondary mouths all along! (And now I will spit him onto the deck to deal with this problem now that you kids have it already wrapped up.)"

It seems to be quite appropriate in the given circumstances.

Ah do you wish to reignite the debate on if Gamma and Zimmy are really in the room or just in Kat's head in Ch. 38. But since Ch. 46 we now know that both possibilities are not mutually exclusive. How about, "Since he can't swim fast enough to keep up on his own I was carrying Bud in one of my secondary mouths all along! (And now I will spit him onto the deck to deal with this problem now that you kids have it already wrapped up.)" No her first phrase in the comic, much quoted in the strip-slaying thread. It seems to be quite appropriate in the given circumstances. I like my misinterpretation better.
