I am not talking about this one in special (i was 15 min late to day) but at the stander rules Ps (You did change the title.) That is why recalls the time I lost and ask it now I don't understand the PS at all - are you talking about editing a post? Or starting the thread? I can't change the title of a thread I didn't post.

Well, as I can see the unusual company is nice and slowly gathering together. Now starting to taking off the whole chain of events. Where Zimmy appears, there will not be a calm(boring) moment. I'm curious to know can Gamma soothe Zimmy with a sweet (or bizarre) smile off, once it starts to make trouble(because trouble is guaranteed). However, good to know that everything is fine with them.

Now that I've had some time to read and re-read this page, it feels kind of unfair discrimination from the Court to put Zimmy and Gamma live in the cleaning cupboard when other kids (at least Annie) got their own cabins, and relatively luxury ones as that. They must have been given an actual cabin somewhere on the ship. I can't imagine them just being in a closet. They were given the most luxurious cabin on the ship, but the moment Zimmy enters it changes to a broom closet. Researchers from the Court are standing by Isn't her love for Zimmy supposed to make her happy? insert romantic Youtube link here She probably likes the change of scenery, but must be aware that a crowded ship is quite a dangerous place for Zimmy. I wonder if a seawater bath would help Zimmy.

Gamma and Zimmy met in a seedy part of a city (Birmingham IIRC), so I always had the vibe that Gamma's life was sucky before she met Zimmy. Maybe not Zimmy-level of sucking, but certainly not peaches and cream. Yet another back story that has yet to be revealed. Muut - Someone who is "just fine" would not be in this place.

According to the Word of Tom about Gamma, "Her family is something she does not talk or think about.", which implies that either they are dead or they were abusive. Either way, Zimmy certainly didn't make her life suck. They seemed to be homeless when the Court agents came to them. But we should find out more about how they came to be together some time, soon; Tom has said that he's going to do a side comic about them, now that he's got steady income through Patreon.

Gamma doesn't look well. She didn't sleep well for too long. Annie jumps to help. Hmm... shouldn't Lindsey have much the same effect? This clearly implies that they are time traveling opposite-sex clones. Of each other. They seemed to be homeless when the Court agents came to them. And why homeless?

...or they don't want a fun-sized spider at home... or... This is what the Word of Tom says about Zimmy's parents: "Zimmy's parentents forgot her long before the Court found her". This, along with the following supports homelessness more than any other theory. The dialogue clearly implies that Zimmy has bounced around in the system and dropped out of its radar on her own accord. Also, the Court agents suggest that Gamma, specifically, hasn't been safe, before -- whether they suggest abuse, possible deportation or something else isn't clear.

I like how surreal this chapter is getting. The humans of the court must really trust their safety measures to let fire elementals, demon girls and elderech crabs frolick around their kids

And is it actually Zimmy this time? Nope. Not gonna be tricked again. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. Clearly it's someone else and Tom is just messing with us, like usual.

Did we ever find out what about the rain helps Zimmy's eyes come out? Would falling in the sea have the same effect? Or does it have to be the ethereally charged rain like we see in the court?

Zimmy looks a bit... seasick. This won't end well. Hell, this may end eldritchly. This could all be a setup for the best(oddest) Vomit Joke ever. I'm pretty sure they're just hiding there because Gamma wanted to be on the main deck, but Zimmy hates the crowds. Sometimes, tight spaces can be very comforting; like you're safe in your tortoise shell. According to the Word of Tom about Gamma, "Her family is something she does not talk or think about.", which implies that either they are dead or they were abusive. Or, they never existed. Either way, those two really are fascinating. A Zimmy/Gamma side-comic will be awesome. I'm standing by for the Jenny/Zimmy/Gamma goodness!

Jack is trying to replace Zimmy with Jenny because she tossed him out on his arse. And it may have to do with the Gamma & Zimmy relationship.
...Gamma always looks so happy, like she and Zimmy are opposite sides of a coin.

Did we ever find out what about the rain helps Zimmy's eyes come out? Would falling in the sea have the same effect? Or does it have to be the ethereally charged rain like we see in the court? As far as I can tell, it's that water 'carries' etheric energy somehow. The ether station can extract this, or cause a more natural rain if stopped before the extraction begins. In one of the very early chapters, Zimmy says that showers don't work. Processing or piping the water depletes the ether in it, renders it neutral. I'm going to ramble a bit, because it's one of my favorite topics in this comic: When I was growing up, my grandfather had an extensive vegetable garden. He taught my mother to grow food, and she taught me. He always said that watering plants just keeps them alive - only real rain will make them grow. It fits so nicely with the treatment of water in this comic that it brings me joy. The ocean should be brimming with ether. I bet Zimmy would really enjoy a dip.

Before now, have we ever seen Zimmy or Gamma out of uniform (not counting in the ether and pre-Gunnerkrigg flashbacks)?

Zimmy and Gamma are in Chester, right? Have we ever met any other students from Chester? I've always looked forward to that happening.
(Was Brinnie in Chester? Too lazy to go back and check)

Heck; yes. Gamma looks good. Well, now that this lot's aboard, all suggestions for how the sea will be torn are pretty much open. I'm currently thinking Jack-induced Zimmyfit which ends up with the entire ship floating sideways on the Zimlantic Sea.
Something about Zimmy looks slightly off, perhaps her eyes are abnormally low?

I like how surreal this chapter is getting. The humans of the court must really trust their safety measures to let fire elementals, demon girls and elderech crabs frolick around their kids Is seems like fire elementals, girls who are frequently mistaken for demons, and elderich crabs outnumber human kids at the court these days. (And maybe even in days gone by.) Could be argued that those ARE the vast majority of kids at the court. Zimmy and Gamma are in Chester, right? Have we ever met any other students from Chester? I've always looked forward to that happening. (Was Brinnie in Chester? Too lazy to go back and check) Surma and Anja were transferred from Chester to Queslett. www.gunnerkrigg.com/?p=540 I believe the implication is that Brinnie was also a transferred. On a side note. Check out panel two with the kids in the crowd: Happy face, shocked face, shocked face. I postulate that some of the kids at the court have a passing familiarity with creatures like Lindsey and love for them and some are still getting used to the "wonders of the court" shall we say.

(And maybe even in days gone by.) Could be argued that those ARE the vast majority of kids at the court. I was under the assumption that virtually ALL of the kids at the court had some level of...etherical-tendency, shall we call it, and even if you took out the blatant ones like Antimony and Zimmy those who where left would still have a base-line level higher than the general population. Look at Kat, for example- she's pretty talented at working with robots, but thus far she's shown relatively little outright supernatural power. Whether that's her thing or due to being Anja's daughter we're not sure, since Anja definitely has some etherical ability. But if most of the kids at the court where like that- the child of one or two ether-users, then they could have a lot of untapped potential. And FYI, I'm still holding out that the Court is located in some sort of pocket-universe/alternate-dimension that's difficult for normal people to find but attracts those tuned to the ether. Maybe a bit like the mythical isle of Avalon, in some of the king-Arthur stories.

One cruise ship's disaster is another person's "advance in our understandings of etheric sciences!" Makes me wonder if we'll ever meet anyone higher in rank than the headmaster. We caught a glimpse of it in that flashback to the intrigue against Jeanne, but they were all wearing pantaloons and powdered wigs. I hope Kat saved that video recording of the whole plot and assassination. That's some pretty rock-solid evidence right there.
