Yeah, she usually wears it as a necklace, but she's never been shown using it without holding it in her hand. The most recent time she made fire was when she accepted Coyote's offer to be the forest medium, and she had her blinker stone in her hand then. Except for that other, more recenter time where she made fire without the blinker stone in her hand. And also that most recentest time where she made fire without the blinker stone in her hand. But both of those times she is shown wearing a necklace, and as I mentioned, there's the possibility the stone is on that necklace, just tucked under her shirt/dress collar. It's possible she's makin' fire now without it entirely, or she might just have graduated to making fire with it in contact anywhere and not just her hand. She could be wearing it without actually using it, or it might not be on that necklace or anywhere else on her person at all. Needs more data.

Nope, she turned to fire since then - in chapter 44 when she met the Seed Bogus and then helped Ysengrin with a fight. And she may have been wearing the stone as a pendant, but she did not put her hand on it. (Ninja'd)

As I wasn't around during Divine, would you summarize the arguments against this interpretation? The main argument is that it fails to make much sense. Starting with assuming that Anthony-who-does-not-get-that-magic-thing-at-all uses magic and ending with the part when he threatens Earth with bonelasers from his moonbase on the Moon. Except the part where moonbase in on the Moon, that is. Is there another interpretation that makes more sense? Annie slipped her blinker in Donald's rocket, then tried to use it and discovered the hard way that "unlimited activation range" doesn't truly imply "safe to use at any range"?

When Annie learns to pick a flower with her etheric presence, she appears to do the same thing in reverse, after all. That is only as nonsensical as GPS navigation.

Re-reading this... I wonder, did anyone other than 'Grin and his (in-)subordinates see Annie going all elemental before this moment? Especially Parley & Smitty.

Zimmy have a problem with discerning what's real, and what isn't, or how much. Either way, it's hard to imagine her telling anyone (except maybe Gamma, but will she want to talk about random weird stuff?). So if they were unprepared, they were unprepared. Another question, of course, is who other than Donlans & company (and Jones) knows about Annie's ancestral quirks at all. She told Kat, but that's it, as far as we know.

Jones knows because Coyote asked her why she didnt tell Annie she wasn't human. I'm sure if Jones knows, Surma's closest friends all knew as well. I'd wager Eglamore, the Donlans, and possibly even the Court knows Annie is part fire elemental. Also, can someone please make a fanart of Annie fighting Azula? That would be crazy, right?!?!?
