From Drunk Duck, that is. This means you can't go there for an early update anymore... however the official mirror is now hosted on Graphic Smash at www.graphicsmash.com/comics/gunnerkrigg.phpAnd that also seems to update an hour earlier than the main site. It's a very bare bones mirror, there aren't even any comments or author notes on it. The point is to have a mirror that will be up if ever the main site is down, but still have people look at www.gunnerkrigg.com as the official site for the comic. There will be an announcement on the Drunk Duck site tomorrow (no comic) and the account will be gone by Monday.

Phew! At least you're not deleting the comic from the Internet altogether.
So why is the mirror moving from Drunk Duck to Graphic Smash, Tom?

I've been meaning to take it off Drunk Duck for a while now due to certain issues, so when Tim Demeter from Graphic Smash offered to host a mirror I figured it was about time to get rolling.

I never really kept score, but how much faster was the drunk duck in terms of updating?

Just a question. I am thinking of moving my strip off Drunk Duck to a self hosting sight. Do you think this was a good idea? What are the benefits? I'd love to know

Okay, so I think you know that you've gotten totally hooked on a comic you've only known for a few weeks when you read a thread title like that and you have a little mini panic at it! Glad to hear you're just messin' with us.

I've always had better luck with my own site away from Drunk Duck. You may not have built in tools and stuff like Drunk Duck so it's harder to set up, but once you do you have complete control over everything. You also don't have to be subjected to the strange voting system of DD and you can decide not to run an ad that blocks out an entire country from even looking at your site for a week.

I had such a scare when I saw the title. Good to know it's not all going away, but I don't read it on Drunk Duck anyway, so I guess this doesn't really apply to me.

I also freaked out a bit there. I never used the drunk duck site anyway, so this doesn't effect (affect? Could never tell) me! Edit: However it is helpful to know.
