Goodnight, vampire. Goodnight, bat. Goodnight, Ankou and his broad-brimmed hat.

The vampire went batty. I know, I know. But someone had to say it and I just happened to get in first.

Tits. I'm not proud to make this observation, but I had not noticed that Annie had grown a pair of them before this. Or, erm... this noticeable pair of them. She looks much bustier in the fourth panel than she has looked ever before, unless my memory fails me. Not as if I was proud of this, but my memory seldom fails me about tits.
Edit: and to be accurate, I only see one noticeable tit in the panel, so it might not be correct to speak of a pair, maybe they're not of same size, wouldn't be the first time that happened in world.

The guy so happy, his collar pops just like that. Maybe that's symbolic. You know, things sometimes pop up like that when men get happy in the presence of breasts. For what I know, that usually is not followed by turning into a bat, though.

A lot of good kids get overlooked. It honestly makes me wonder just how many kids are stuck like Mort in the Gunnerkrigg Court world.

zimmyzims: I've been paying heed to the progressive physical maturation of the characters for a long time, since it's always interesting how different artists handle it. Because I am young and male I noticed the appearance of secondary sexual characteristics on the female characters long ago. Clearly you have been so impressed by the story itself that you have been distracted from subjects that usually take your attention, including the breasts of underage fictional characters. Tom should be proud of himself.
I rather enjoyed this page. It has a wide range of emotions, including a fair amount of positivity, of which the world is always in short supply. I also like seeing Antimony express moods other than stern curiosity.

Thank you for telling that instead of being keen to notice this new characteristic of Annies, I have been missing it for a long time. I too think Tom should be proud of his work for this reason as well as for many others, but I too can feel happy for that it really took me a long time to let it distract me from what I really am and should be paying attention to: the story itself.

Aw, little flirt. Now that I think, that turning into a bat may be symbolic too... often flirting may end up with what can be metaphorically described as mighty and self-assured monster withering way as a pitiful little bat.

Though when I go back to the previous pages and ...pay closer attention... I'd say it's an art quirk. For what I know, that usually is not followed by turning into a bat, though. It isn't? Then you must be doing something wrong. On a more topical note I think it's interesting that it's all smoke and mirrors and rubber masks he can still turn back into his vamp form at will and shift into a bat. I like that ambiguity. Although now I wonder what happened to the old mask.

I bet it's because I'm doing it right. *self-assured* Oh, back to topic, I wondered the same about this bat-tranformation, but counted 2+2 = he had put the original mask back on during the panels where we didn't see him.

Classic Steve. He's just crazy... or it's the rabies. Both? The guy so happy, his collar pops just like that. Premature batulation is a recurring problem for a lot of ghouls these days. I blame over-saturation of the horror film market.

Does anyone else wish they could end conversations by laughing deeply and turning into a bat? I know I do...

Verification bat confirmed! That's awesome. Overlooking is NO excuse. Don't forgive him, Annie. How about you process more than thirty thousand people every day for five years without overlooking a single one? Even if you had a sizable staff supporting you, that would still be practically impossible.

Looking back at comics at a few random time points, you can see things progressing over time I suppose, but they are getting older aren't they. She is around 13/14 now if she's in year 9, That's about the time puberty hits.
