Bloody... I really chose the wrong line for the title this time. Sorry for that guys. It seemed the right on first reading, but in aftermath, damn how I missed the surprise factor in putting Mort's words from the last panel to the title. Really sorry for this. To my defence, I kind of wanted to hide the shock of the last panel for those who go to the comic through this page. I personally do that, I come to this discussion page, look for the page thread and go to the comic page through the link in thread. Back to the subject: Wow, Mort. Just wow! If Annie takes him into the ether, does that mean he can't come back? That's how I've understood it. |

That's pretty heavy: Tom's basically killing off (again) a fairly important character. It may not be soon, resolving things with Jeanne is probably months away, but it doesn't change the fact that Mort is more or less asking Annie to help him with suicide.
As far as we know, going into the Ether means no coming back, and that means no more Mort. Ever.

Ok, more practically it's her helping him clean out his office so that he can go into a well deserved retirement...And never be seen again except in fond reminiscence. But hey, guess we get to see who Mort was, and what his parting words to the mortal universe are. |

You know, there is a sort of competition for creation of each page thread. And you have to give it a title matching the page. And then it's that, so you have to choose it wisely. Otherwise we would just write "beat you b****es!" to the title and change it to a more suiting one when we have had time to digest the page. So, you have to balance between the two, being fast enough to actually get the thread, and to give it enough thought to get a title line that you can be happy with. Sometimes it's not optimal, but as long as we do give it the thought it remains good. |
