Woo 1000 posts. ..and while I'm tooting the horn, I've just done a bit of restructuring on my continuation of The Ultimate Listing in an effort to make it less of a "scroll for a million years" kind of topic. Obviously I can't go back and change judgedeadd 's posts, but at least for future chapters it can be a lot more compact. Thoughts?

I'll drop you a private message when I post the hats on etsy, if you'd like This was a prototype, so I was more concerned with getting things to look right than in determining the labor/material costs while I was assembling it. Someone suggested that I try doing one in a reddish-purple, so I'll be using that to work out costs (and maybe try one minor alteration to see if it looks better...). I've been getting some positive feedback on this overall, though First though, I need to finish working out a vest design for a customer....

Because sometimes you need a silly project in between the serious ones, I present the Squid Hat: The squid mittens are a nice touch Well, I've seen people with hats with attached mittens -- sometimes with little cat or wolf ears on the hats... And when I came across this bright neon green fleece, for some reason it screamed "cartoon squid" at me, so making the ends of the tentacles into mittens just seemed like a natural idea to run with. I figured between the anime fans, gamers, furries, steampunks and Lovecraftians I hang out with, someone would be bound to like it (One of them keeps pointing at the photos and shouting "Ia! Ia! Cthulhu fhtagn!")

KrakenWear Or Were-Kraken? That would work better for a Vampire Squid plushie I'm pondering constructing (sidenote: an acquaintance has thanked me for pointing out the vampire squid to her. Her ex- is apparently deathly afraid of squids to begin with )

Sent you a private message with the shop link. Right now I just have it set up for US sales as I have to figure out how etsy handles foreign sales/shipping. And for everyone else, here's a photo of the red (beetroot) and pink one: And both together: ....someone's now having me do a custom one with dark red and pale yellow colors as well.

Sorry for the belated response. Nice work! Why not just start a whole new thread and redo it all from the beginning? One or more of two things: -it's not like it doesn't work as-is -redoing all of that from scratch would be a ton of work and I'm lazy Well, it wouldn't be much more work than going back and redoing judgedeadd's posts, and you seemed to be expressing a willingness to do that if you could. You wouldn't have to start completely from scratch, because you could quote each of the previous posts, copy-paste them into your post, and remove the quote tags before adding the spoiler tags. Plus, it doesn't quite "work as-is", honestly. I've been doing an archive read where I reread a page of the comic, then read all the comments in the thread devoted to that page, so I don't miss any of the insights you folks point out that I don't notice (I originally got most of the way through the archive before discovering the forum). And starting with the very first threads in chapter 11, all the page numbers are off by 2. For example, the cover page of Chapter 12 is currently page 200, but at the time the thread was created it was page 202, and the link pointing to that thread has the number 202 in it. Apparently at some point Tom deleted two pages??? This was extremely confusing to me when I first started trying to read the appropriate thread for each page, as you can imagine! I'm up to Chapter 21 of my reread now, and this is still the case. Currently, the cover page for Ch 21 is page #503, but the thread for said page refers to it as page 505, and so does the link from the Ultimate thread. Somewhere between Ch 21 and present day, the page numbers do start matching up, but I haven't found where yet. So one excellent reason for redoing the whole list would be to fix the page numbers in the list to match reality. (They still wouldn't match up within the threads themselves, but at least the list could have some explanation of the problem to lessen confusion.)

Why not just start a whole new thread and redo it all from the beginning? It's a sticky thread, and only Tom can create them. I tried that, but it was too time consuming, but I do read the thread about pages that puzzle me in some way. It can be fun. No, there were some numbering mistakes at the beginning of the comic. The renumbering took place around here.

I think GK can make them too, but neither of our resident moderators have been around much recently... Honestly, we need a new one who'll stick around in preparation for the next time the board becomes nasty. And who can sticky new threads.

It's been quite awhile since I last participated in this forum, and this particular thread seems to be little used of late. But I have been busy on a project and thought I would shamelessly self-promote it here. I wrote a book and published it and it is totally available for sale if anyone wants to buy it. It is a collection of short stories covering a range of genres with metaphysical/philosophical themes. I'm self-published, but it's available in eBook or hardcopy format. Like all authors nowadays, I have a blog and a Facebook page and a twitter. If you decide to read it, I really hope you enjoy it.

Halloween's the perfect time for thread necromancy! I do a cyberpunk-ish/dystopian comic named "Not What I Was" ( twitter.com/NWIW_Comic ) The creator Tangentville ( tangentville.smackjeeves.com ) and I were chatting about our comics a few weeks back when I realized my comic in which one character would awaken from a medical pod/autodoc would run the day before Halloween. So of course it was necessary I do bonus comic with a Frankenstein reference. Happy Halloween, everyone!
