So, the store has one T-shirt with the court symbol in court colors, and another with the court symbol in forest colors. Why are there no T-shirts with the forest symbol? I'd sure love a matching set. I know there are websites where you can upload your own design to make custom T-shirts. So long as we don't distribute them for cash, would it be wrong to make a forest t-shirt for personal use? If this has already been discussed, or this is the wrong place to mention it, then I apologize, but it's something I've been curious about for a while. Seeing the note about the new pins reminded me of it, since it's something else with the court symbol, and no corresponding forest symbol in return. Thanks!

I don't think this particular case has been resolved. Tom said that he does not want others to profit off of his ideas, but that was said to someone who had been selling drawings they had made. I, in fact, had a similar moral dilemma - I wanted a Coyote shirt of a different type than the one in the store. I ended up going and buying it from a custom t-shirt place, then donating an equal amount of money to Tom directly. That is my thought on it, at least. Correct me if that was wrong, Tom or anyone else.

Correct me if that was wrong, Tom or anyone else. It's kind of academic at this point, since I have very little artistic talent, so unless I find a better version of the forest symbol than the one I linked, It's not likely to happen. (Google has a very nice court symbol, but not the other...at least not that I've yet to come across) I was more curious as to why Tom hadn't added much of anything with the forest symbol to the store. Or alternatively, if he did have it at one time, but it all sold out and hadn't been restocked.

But the merches would solve his financial problems. In theory.
OK, maybe a forest pin wouldn't mean the difference between picking and choosing between good places to live or not. But a pin and a T-shirt totally would.

I think he's pretty busy with life right now, more merch probably isn't high on his to-do list. Then why the new court-symbol pin? And haven't the shirts been in the store for a while? If there isn't a good answer, that's fine. I was just curious because it seemed odd.

Correct me if that was wrong, Tom or anyone else. I like Daedalus's solution of a one off and a donation. As for the merch... new untested merch often has an upfront cost and he might not have the time or energy right now to do a t-shirt compatible version of the forest symbol and pay for production. He already had a fairly good reproducible version of the court symbol before the pin came out and it was a special for a con. My understanding is the pins in the store now are what was left after the con... if they sell well he will probably keep making them, but it makes more sense to produce a second run of stock that has already proven to sell then to put time and energy into a new design that is as yet untested... especially when one's life is in chaos. Unstable living situations are really, really stressful.

Email Tom and see what he thinks about creating merch for personal use. He's probably busy with life though, so I'd wait for a little bit.

I thought I remembered seeing a forest symbol shirt at one time, but I guess I am wrong. I do know that the discussion of "stealing from Tom" has come up before, but that was mostly about a few unscrupulous people selling GC fan art. (at least the part where Tom spoke up. drop down half way on the first page to see his first few posts on the subject).

Thanks for the links. Aside from the aforementioned total lack of artistic ability, if the waters here are as muddy as the other thread led me to believe, then perhaps it is best if I don't risk it at all. I'll be content to wait for now.
From my perspective, the best solution would be for Tom to make a forest-shirt for the store that I could purchase in all it's 100% official GKC glory, but obviously he doesn't feel it's worth his time or investment. I'm still curious about it though. Is there just a lack of interest in forest-related merchandise? I could understand that, maybe, since so much of the story takes place in the Court instead, with only brief interludes visiting Gilette woods. Or maybe the t-shirts just don't sell very well, and the store still has the first run of the court-symbol, so there aren't likely to be additions soon. I could understand either of those being valid options, but of course I can't confirm either.
If there are any more responses then I'll be happy to read them, but if we've run out of anything else of merit to add to the conversation, then thanks to everyone for all the feedback!
And Happy New Year!

I think as far as merchandise goes, the court symbol serves as a symbol for the comic itself, rather than just the Court specifically. Is the coyote shirt still for sale? That's forest-related merch if there ever was any. I have that shirt and it is awesome.

Now before anything else, please make Annie in the Forest 1 & 2 available again.

Søren, what sound does the struck O make? Ø?

In Swedish that particular one whould be [ə:], as in hurt, churl, world. Danish is more complicated since they don't pronounce any consonants and mix up the vowels.
