Camera? It's a drawing, there's no camera :! Then it's point of view! I've always just referred to it as 'view' or 'viewer'.

Another note on the shadows: In panel three, the light is between the characters and the camera. Camera? It's a drawing, there's no camera :! The camera is Tom Siddell's brain and the printer is his hand.

It still keeps going? This has the be the longest chapter ending in the history of the comic. That honor would go to Faraway Morning, closely followed by Fire Spike. Both had over 43 pages.

Now I REALLY want to know how this chapter is going to end; what else could be added? This FEELS like a chapter-end page. On another note, the story has sort of come full circle; Annie is opening the door for Kat this time!

On another note, I could see how they look kind of drugged, but to me that's more the face of someone who has dealt with an emotionally exhausting but also satisfying issue and is now looking forward to some rest. I have made that face myself, and I have never in my life done drugs!
edit: catharsis, that's the word! It's the look of someone who's just experienced personal catharsis

I mean the ending, as in that the main plot/conflict of the chapter has been resolved, but it still keeps getting new pages. This one really looks like the ending if it wasn't for the lack of antimony-symbol in the corner. Not that I'm complaining, I just wonder what else can still be added to what has already been said.

What could possibly happen next?
-They find a body.
- Kat has another 'deal with that' moment when Paz is glimpsed through the door
- They find Zimmy and Gamma have 'discovered' the place and eaten all the cherries.
- They meet Jack.

My strong impression of today's comic is that Kat reminded me of Spike Spiegel. Wonder if I'm the only one.

To me, they don't look stoned, but instead.. happy. Happy and content. Which looks very similar to stoned, I realize.

I am somewhat aware of the aforementioned state of mind, and really never thought of it when I saw todays update. And now I can't unsee

Not really much to see here. One of the most straightforward pages in a long time. Edit: Only thing to analyze is the technicalities of the chamber. I'm guessing it was pressurized, which is why their hair is so docile in the last panel. My impression was that the opening of the door heralded a massive spike in humidity. Which would make sense since it's a climate controlled chamber.

I was kinda hoping for Bob and Marcia to be there having a picnic or something. Maybe they will be on the other side of the tree in the next page. Also what happened to that circle with a bunch of lines symbol on the door seen in every page before today. It looks to be in the middle as seen in the last panel here www.gunnerkrigg.com/?p=1291, but then even with an angled view where we should see around her a bit, Annie is somehow blocking it all out www.gunnerkrigg.com/?p=1292. We must have justice for circle with a bunch of lines symbol!!! Also I didn't really think about it before, but I how in the world does the Court pay for its electrical bill. Unless they have other forms of self supplied alternative energy, or are just ridiculously rich.

Also, etheric sciences, duh. At least, the first robots created by Diego apparently didn't run on normal sources of power.

Stoned or not, they do seem to look a bit older. I wonder if it is the effect of the bright light, ametaphor for their mental maturity, or a nod towards the continuation of the friendship to the future.

My strong impression of today's comic is that Kat reminded me of Spike Spiegel. Wonder if I'm the only one. I was thinking about the ending credits for Noir. But now that you mention it, I see it. "just don't imagine their shadows as resembling lovecraftian monsters looming behind them or anything like that" Those silly Shoggoths. Always with the "rabbit ears".

I am so curious to see what Wednesday brings.

Honestly, I was hoping for an end page here so that there could be a Christmas-themed bonus page. But, alas. Still, though, where is there to go from here? Possible mood whiplash ahead.

Ohhh, a Christmas themed bonus page might have been fun. It occurs to me, however, that I can't recall Tom ever putting any holiday themed content into the comic. I wonder if that it intentional?

I love LOTR, but I never got why they didn't just drop the ring from the back of the eagles straight down into the fire. Would have saved them a lot of walking a dying. Also, I want my membership card to the hive mind. You will receive a postcard in six to ten business days. Please allow for delays due to the holidays. Do not be alarmed if you see "TV Repairmen" installing a new dish on your house. It is the device that will allow your brain to receive the hivemind's instructions.

I love LOTR, but I never got why they didn't just drop the ring from the back of the eagles straight down into the fire. Would have saved them a lot of walking a dying. *draws breath* There's a great many reasons that. 1. The Great Eagles aren't incorruptible. They can lust for the Ring and betray their riders. 2. The Eagles are more obviously noticeable than people walking on land and more likely to catch Sauron's attention and intercepted by the Nazgûl or other nasty things. 3. The Eagles, in spite of their great size and connection to the Valar are still just flesh and blood. They can't fly forever with a rider. They can only go for a few miles at a time like that, and they aren't eager to leave their familiar hunting grounds. 4. The Ring can't simply be dropped into the crater of Mount Doom. It needs to be taken to the Chambers of Fire at its root where it was forged to unmake it. Look above about getting Sauron's unwanted attention. 5. The Eagles are messangers of the Valar and act as divine intermediaries. They only interfere directly to great, world-shaking events under direct orders from above, and only do so to reward mortal feats of heroism. The Ring is the problem of the peoples of Middle-Earth and the Lords of the West won't aid them in its destruction with anything but useful advice from their messangers, such as Gandalf. 6. This (see number one). Don't test a Tolkien geek, even a lapsed one, for we are subtle and quick to anger.
