Aaaaaaaaawwwww.That's quite a tan. EDIT: Apparently that's a proper dress Annie's wearing, not a nightgown.

Darn it, Tom, what did you do that for?
You made me cry.

Aha, nice tan. Hmm, a dress liek that isn't exactly something i'd imagined Annie wearing. Eh, I'm glad Kat's back! I like Rey sitting there on the bed

Feeble words cannot describe this scene and do it justice.

Panel four is brilliant! Do you see those eyebrows! (I keep talking bout the brows, but honestly, THEY CHANGE YOUR WHOLE FACE PEOPLE). This is the first page-related discussion I have felt the need to post on! (I think). It's because it's pretty awesome!
(Hey Ed - Did you see the psychologist on three news? He was telling us all how to deal with our loss...in the world cup. Hahaha, I thought it was great. Oh, and did you hear the difference between the ABs and a teabag...? I'm sorry, I have to remedy my disappointment with feeble hilarity and GC.)

I thought at first that "Bonjoornay" was a variant on the French "bonjour", but then remembered that Kat had been holidaying in Italy, so it's probably how she pronounces an Italian greeting word. (I'm less familiar with Italian than I am with French.)
Is it my imagination, or has Kat's hair gotten longer in the back?
Reynardine seems as unimpressed about everything as usual.

Did Tom change the comment below the page? I thought when it first updated on Drunk Duck, the comment was something like, "Carver, you sap." Did anyone else notice?
It's starting to look like Annie's changed her hairstyle again, slightly. I do really like Kat's new hair.

Annie looks lovely with wavy hair [and slightly more Surma-ish, too], but I don't really like how feminine Kat's gotten. I don't think it fits her very well. ): I hope she'll go back to looking like the dorky tomboy she is.

This page is so...I can't even find the word to describe it. Kat looks lovely with her new tan and I love how happy Shadow2 looks.

Oh man, dragonmage06, that avatar is awesome. EDIT: Kat's wearing an XL Recordings shirt. Another glimpse at the sort of music she (and possibly Tom) likes. Interesting. Kat's part Roma, and one of the stereotypes associated with the Roma is that they're big on dancing. All of the music that Kat's name-dropped to date has been some sort of electronic dance music.

At first I thought that Annie's hair had just fallen over her shoulder from that running a couple of pages back. I didn't think that it was her new style.

One thing that may be a little sad is that Kat's the only kid at Gunnerkrigg who's made friends with Annie; all the other children in her class appear to ignore her (except, initially, for Winsbury - and he gave up clashing with Annie after she judo-flipped him at the start of Chapter Three). I wonder if that will change in the upcoming school year or not. (You've got to say one thing: no wonder so much of the readership likes Kat, in light of how she was so ready to reach out to the new kid - especially a new kid as quiet, solitary, and "weird" as Annie is!)

Thank you Mezzaphor! Glad to find another MST3K buff. ;D
Todd - I never really thought about it like that, but you're right. Most of the other students ignore her. I think Annie might be one of those girls who feels more comfortable with teachers and older students than with kids her own age. Kat is obviously the exception, but I think we do see her being a bit more comfortable around the adults.

The Italian analogue to bonjour is buongiorno. If Kat's trying to say that, she gotta work on her Italian. XD

And as I might have mentioned before, I think that Kat's been the No. 1 reason why Annie has loosened up as much as she has during her time at Gunnerkrigg. Her friends at the hospital were the Guides, who were all far older than she is, and (if Muut's any indication) grave and dignified. That probably had a very strong influence on her. (Note how, in the flashback to Good Hope in Chapter Eight, when Annie accidentally breaks the glass, she acts in the same very solemn manner that she does at the Court.)
Once she experiences the friendship of a child her age (and a very exuberant child at that), Annie naturally would start to become more childlike herself. (I don't think that she's returning to a childlike state here under Kat's influence; I think that she's experiencing it for the first time.)

Your from NZ as well? Im amazed, I thought I was the only one New Zealander in the forum. And by the way I did see it ;D Actually I think there's one other...someone from dunedin, I think (Unless that's you?). Their signature on the comments used to say something about them living there. But one day there'll be enough of us to take over the forum... I don't know about Annie not having other friends! Maybe Kat's just her best friend, and the comics just focuses on them. I mean when I was Annie's age I had just started intermediate (I think...can't work out ages) and it was pretty different from primary (like GC is from the hospital) so most of the time I was with my best friend, and we just went and visited other groups at lunch time. But maybe that was because she was the only person I knew in my class. So maybe Annie hangs out with other people sometimes, we just don't really see it. When you think about it it's not like we really see that much of her normal school day, like lunch time or anything. And I'm sure she'd be too focused in class to spend much time talking to people then?
