It's a good sign, that she's opening up about it. If Annie gives her any grief, she may be able to shoot it down, and tell her to shut up. Though, I'm still hoping for confetti and streamers. Annie walks in: "I saw your important experiment went well." Kat: "It went up in smoke." Annie: "Yes, it looked smoking hot to me." Kat: "And now I have to do it all over again." Annie: "I'm sure you'll enjoy it." Kat: "It'll take me at least a week." Annie: "Oh, I hope it takes quite a bit longer than that." Kat: "Why would you... wait a minute... what are you talking about?"

that picture is deep, the double entendre is an admonishment to current state of society I'm pretty sure there's no double entendre there; that would require two meanings, a "clean" meaning and a sexual meaning. I'm pretty sure the sexual meaning is the only one. Renard is presenting Kat with a cake. Literally and figuratively shoving her lesbianism into her face. she is embarrassed by the gesture, "but will still eat the cake"

But what did the fox try to say? Suggestions? I take the liberty to compile the following list, partly from the comments on the comic page. - "Maybe if I saw you kissing your girlfriend, that would give me enough insight to know where Annie would go!"
- "And you didn't let her join you? Of course she ran away!"
- "Is Annie the 'girlfriend' you are talking about? You knew I wanted to watch!"
- "Now you've got to tell me if you think Parley is hot!"
- "So you and Annie didn't hook up?! I'm shocked!"
- "I called it!"

This can only go downhill. We're teaching the internet to the innocents. Such terrible people are we. The internet used to be like the various desert cities around Palm Springs. Some people were Nazis, some people were Mexican drug lords, some people were part of gay communes and some people were just retired. Everyone did their own thing and existed in (relative) harmony and the sheriffs department stayed far away because they didn't really understand how to control it. Now the internet is more like a crowded street in Manhattan. It's going to take some getting used to.

The past internet sounds like current-day Arizona, honestly. Also, 500th post, yay!

Everyone is high and everyone is armed so everyone is polite. Or else. When presented with the choice between being a nuisance and having your RV turned to Swiss cheese by bandana-wearing miscreants on ATVs, most people either choose the former or realize their mistake and leave. Its sort of like informal civil government, only the town hall meetings are very brief and very loud. I am a big fan of rural Arizona and Utah for this reason. Another place you can find this mentality is Slab City, although I only visited in my youth and did not stay long.

Or anyone who uses weapons to press their opinions on others.
