I meant I'm going to physics because in my sophomore year I realized that there was no way I could ever keep track of those molecular formula, equations, and equilibriums. Heh, biochemistry is fine for me, and chemical equations are far easier than the mathematical ones you need to be a physicist! (How many dimensions are we up to now?) Nitroglycerine is probably used more in medicine anyway, it produces NO in the body, which is a major vasodilator, so is commonly given for heart problems like angina. Last time I checked there were ten: three spacial, one time, and six inexplicable microscopic ones. Honestly, I love math, but not the kind of math they use in chemistry.

Last time I checked there were ten: three spacial, one time, and six inexplicable microscopic ones. Honestly, I love math, but not the kind of math they use in chemistry. I had heard 11, according to recent versions of M-theory. Essentially, they all existed at the point in time very, very near the Big Bang, but only three spacial and the one time dimension 'expanded' to be a macroscopic influence. The others are expressed and 'curled' at scales approximating the Planck Distance (the hypothesized smallest possible distance): *far* smaller than any physics experiment will ever come close to reaching, as far as we can predict. The math works out, or so I hear, but it is FAR beyond anything I could ever do. These are necessary to underlie the mathematics of Superstring- and M- theories, but have no observable effect even on the scale of the quantum world, as they are much, much smaller even than that. Hence, they are an unprovable mathematical artifact of a theory that may never be able to be tested. Furthermore, websites trying to explain string theory can have some of the stupidest arguments it has ever been my profound displeasure to encounter. Example: Question:M-theory speaks about 11 dimensions. Could you explain what this means? Thanks. Answer: There is some speculation that heaven might be in one or more of the other dimensions. Or when Jesus was appearing and disappearing, he was going in and out of the other dimensions. Also, this is not a chemistry thing. Way, way, WAY smaller than that.

...I have no idea what's going on here, so I'm just going to say that today in science, our teacher said some study at Harvard said that multiple choice tests have a tiny bit more percentage of the answer being c.

Sorry, physics is really cool. But hard to explain. And Calculus is mind-bendingly awesome, especially if you have a good teacher.

Sorry, I do that I use this as a chatboard rather than a story discussion board. I'm kind of notorious for that here. Mea culpa.
I was unaware there was an IRC channel for GKC.

Testing it and it seems to still work. At least, stuff I'm typing into XChat is showing up in Mibbit ( link again, in case people missed the edit) -- No weird banners yet. Just a bunch of Xfinity ads

I have never seen any of these interesting ads, I am afraid. And I logged onto the chat, but no one is there. Forever alone.

I get a lot of 'go back to college' ads. Despite that I've never been to college.

The ads are targeted. I think the average age on this forum is too high and "AOL-speak" is not allowed, therefore they don't target the funny badge-ads here very much unless it's the end of the month and they've got unsold space or something is posted that makes the software think it's got a shot. But if you guys want to improve your odds of seeing the proboards badges ads, you can try baiting the "interest-based adware" also known as the online behavior-tracking.

Yeah, that might be part of it. I also have Ghostery installed, so that probably negates a lot of the tracking stuff. Might remove it though..it slows things down quite a bit. And the pop-up on every page is annoying.

Well, I read it, and it didn't sound too out of place. And then I looked at it, and I thought "is... That on purpose?" Funny how immature we all can be to still find that funny.

Funny how immature we all can be to still find that funny. Heh. I have three replies... 1. The proboards badges are genuinely crappy on many levels. 2. It is natural to look at them and think "poop," and when a picture of poop is placed side-by-side with a proboards badge it is a challenge to tell which is which. And that, of course, is where the joke is. 3. The more complicated the mind, the greater the need for more simple play. People who start tying themselves in knots taking themselves too seriously will generate more drama and stress than needed and block off avenues of advancement in favor of doing things "the hard way." This leads to a less-good life than would otherwise be possible.
