I was particularly intrigued to see that Tom had actually come up with some different poses for the younger version of the Donlans than the ones in the photograph.

I'm glad to see Parley and Smith among the sketches; I think that they're going to be major recurring figures in Annie's second year at Gunnerkrigg at least, after the mention of how she's going to be having classes with them. (I particularly suspect that Parley's going to be an antagonist in a small-scale way towards our heroine. She didn't seem at all pleased when the Headmaster was speaking to Annie in such an impressed manner at the end, and I can easily guess why - a combination of "She causes a diplomatic crisis with Gillitie Wood by running out onto the bridge, and they're rewarding her?" and "She's three years younger than I am, but they choose her to speak to Coyote instead of me!" I'm looking forward to seeing how that goes.)

I'd say that's a pretty good chance, didn't the headmaster pretty much say that at the end of the last chapter?
