I think yours popped up with someone else's, Goose. Not this one but it was yours and somebody else. Yours just didn't have the number in the title.

There was a gif I would like to post, but I can't find it online. Gonna go delete my thread.

See, this is how I know it's getting good. We got our answer, he intended to kill Annie, but there's still SO MUCH to find out! Exciting!

Well, it doesn't get more spelled out than that.

... Did we just actually get an answer?

... Did we just actually get an answer? I know, so many questions are getting answered that I'm beginning to suspect that this chapter was written by a guest writer.

Am I the only one curious about how Hetty has been taking all this?

... and they say in silent nights you can still hear the screams of those thousand people who lost a bet. Yeah, forty chapters later Renard comes and BAM! Spoiled everything for us.

Unlike real cookies, interent cookies taste much better if they're aged several years.

Unlike real cookies, interent cookies taste much better if they're aged several years. He's almost certainly going to say "I was going to kill her and then I changed my mind" ya know. I don't have a bet in this fight, but I would advise against people eating the cookies before they're fully baked

I think that's pretty conclusive. "I was going to kill her"
I'm also curious about "the world moved on". I didn't know the world was tracking Surma's progress so eagerly.

So there it is. (...unless he's trimming the tale to fit the audience?)
(Still liked the theory that it was a feint to dupe Eglamore into thinking Rey had expired rather than possessing Annie's doll, and that his exclamation was the belated realisation that he'd be trapped)

I've a feeling that Tom is making a bit of fun of us with the plainness of the answer to one of our oldest, most discussed and greatest mysteries of the forums of Gunnerkrigg. I like it.

I can't believe that we're actually getting an answer to one of the oldest questions of the comic.

Also, now that I'm thinking about it, why did Rey's ghost shape have the antimony symbol on his forehead before he got stuck in the toy?

Also, now that I'm thinking about it, why did Rey's ghost shape have the antimony symbol on his forehead before he got stuck in the toy? Nah man, that's the symbol for Mercury; it's associated with the body-stealing powers.

None is asking what this 'power' is...?

Rey having intended to take her body wouldn't surprise me, since it makes most sense, but it's still nice to finally hear him say it.
Of course, he still hasn't finished telling his story. Guess there could still be time for him to change his mind.

None is asking what this 'power' is...? I thought he just meant Antimony's powers as a fire elemental. Though we haven't witnessed the extent of those, so it's possible he has something in particular in mind.

Finally the 8 year mystery which remained, haunted and gnawed at the curiosity in the dark recesses of the readers' minds... And it came out during my birthday! Thanks Tom for this wonderful gift
