Usually, somebody else starts this thread before I do; I wonder what the reason for the delay is. Maybe everyone's assuming that someone else will start it.
And I'd always thought that ghosts didn't eat.

"And she never saw Alistair again."
EDIT: It looks like the comments crew beat me to the punch.
On a serious note, this seems to be the first page to exceed the dimensions of a normal GC page. I guess if there ever is a third book, the guest comics won't be in it.

o_0 "And she never saw Alistair again." EDIT: It looks like the comments crew beat me to the punch. As I said on the comments page, I never even considered the possibility (until I read the comments) that it might be Alistair. I assumed that it was a turkey that Mort had taken from the refrigerator. (Now I'm wondering whether the guest-artist specifically had Chapter Thirteen in mind when he did this page, or if it's just a coincidence.)

Clearly I'm a bit twisted as it was the first thing that came to mind ... Though I do love Kat's grudging comment at the end ;D Also, Mort in the 8th panel looks like one of the ghosts from Pacman.

That most likely isn't Alistair (what the heck would he be doing in the Court, or Mort in the Forest?), but I'm sure Kat's newfound soft spot for birds contributed to her horrified reaction.

Incidentally, is it just me, or are there fewer comments both in this forum and the Comments Page this week than there usually are? (Maybe a lot of the people who usually post about "Gunnerkrigg Court" are waiting until October and Chapter Fifteen start before saying anything.)

September is a busy time, school, work, university. I don't think it's meant to be Aly, but I think the implication is there that it *could* be Aly

I still wonder whether the guest-artist *did*have Aly in mind or not. We'll probably never know.

While we're asking you questions, dork457 - *was* the part about the bird intended as a reference to Alistair?

While we're asking you questions, dork457 - *was* the part about the bird intended as a reference to Alistair? I think I remember starting the comic before the shocking conclusion to that chapter. Though Tom says I didn't start it till last week. It was just supposed to be a turkey and Kat's reaction just worked off her newfound affinity for boyds. Alistair is much too bony to feed such a hearty appetite as Mort's anyway.
