I was shocked to see the message that Chapter Fifteen wouldn't start up until October 1, but at least Tom promised us guest comics and other things - and on every weekday, not just Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. So that should make up for it.
(By the way, this probably answers the question over whether Annie has any adventures over the summer, while she's staying at Gunnerkrigg with Reynardine. Evidently it's a quiet summer and she doesn't have any new unusual experiences until school starts.)

The break is more to represent the passing of the 6 week holiday, rather than be a hiatus. I mean, I have made most of the content that will be up (there are very few guest comics).
I thought that starting the next chapter/book right away wouldnt do well to show that time has passed over the summer.

Ah, I see. Thanks for clarifying that, Tom.

I'm just shocked that there are going to be guest-comics and I haven't been asked to create an epic, full-colour winsbury and boxbot adventure.

This has probably been answered elsewhere, but is there *really* not going to be a second book? I want one so very much.

I can appreciate this tribute to verisimilitude, tho i was hoping there would be some minor solo adventure featuring Annie wandering into more dangerous sections of the court.
Or at least dropping in for tea with Basil.

Haha, the timing of this break could not be better. I just recently told a few friends about Gunnerkrigg and they have all gotten really into the comic. Now they'll have to wait two weeks before the story starts up again. (My relationship with my friends is spiteful and vindictive.)
I don't remember, though; do we know the name of the white-haired girl? Part of me wishes that we don't, since she seems like the kind of character that could go without a name, but, of course, there is always that curiosity.

The two week break will probably also give Tom extra time to do any necessary tweaking of Annie and her friends' character designs to show that they're a bit older now. (Though I hope that he doesn't do anything too drastic, such as having Annie wear her hair a lot shorter or having Kat get everything pierced. I'd prefer keeping it to the level of "grew a couple of inches during the six weeks", please.)

(She also showed up in the Bonus Pages for Chapters One, Two, and Eight.)

Believe me I seriously considered it, and in hindsight I should have asked. However I am an eternal fool. I only have three guest comics by other people. Everything else (except for part 10) was made by me. Also I won't actually be taking a break from the comic over the next two weeks. I've finished chapter 15 and am currently half way through chapter 16 so work continues as normal for me.

But Eggie, feel free to do the guest comic and put it into the art thread. I promise I will laugh out loud.

I only have three guest comics by other people. Everything else (except for part 10) was made by me. Part Ten? So the material for the next two weeks is a serial of some sort? (Though I'm not certain where the "guest comics" would fit into that, short of a heroic level of co-ordination on the part of everyone concerned.)

Not really a serial. They will just be numbered 1-10 so they are grouped in the archive list.

Um... I may have missed something here. Never mind the white-haired girl - who's the boy with his back to us? Is that Winsbury or another character from the vast cast of the GC Greek chorus?
(And just a thought) Or are they future-gen characters commenting on the adventures of their predecessors (Annie & co)?

Guest strips! Wooooo! I hope Dr McNinja gets some payback for the way Tom made him so unpopular at school

Tom's done guest comics for at least three other webcomics: Dr. McNinja, ScaryGoRound, The Repository of Dangerous Things, and one other whose name I can't remember for the life of me. I'm guessing that the GC guest comics will be from three of those authors.
Tea's a real cutie.

Since my own drawing's not that great, I don't mind the fact that Tom didn't invite me to be a guest-artist.
(My guest-comic ideas would probably be a little too silly anyway - things like Reynardine going after Mort with a "Ghostbusters"-style vacuum cleaner as a means of "getting rid of the competition".)

Good lord, that reminds me - I have an unfinished Court fan-comic lying around somewhere.
Why must I be so lazy and never finish things!?

Whoever did that picture of the M.T.A.R.'L.G.s should be put up as a guest comic. Come on.
And yes, that is Tom stargazing. At least we can't see the eyes pressed to that telescope in that picture.

Ah, but Basil only has a timeshare, so he's not there permanently, sadly. Indeed one of the lesser mysteries of the Court; Who is Basil in a timeshare with? Oh well, I do enjoy the acknowledgment of the fact that many of the world's problems can be solved with duct-tape.
