No you are not the first one to ask. Not at all. But I think it's fair to say it's one of the questions everyone on this forum wants to get answered most badly.

I thought they were just dark shadows at first... now I think that's less likely, especially due to angles in the most recent strip.
Now I'm not so sure on them, but there's definitely something a tad freaky about her.

Her eyes are definetly either not there or black orbs. Take your pick, I suppose. It could be that they're secreting that murky black substance which completely covers them and parts of her sockets. I just thought it seemed kind of strange how it looks like it has dripped down her face before solidifying at some points. |

It just ocurred to me, that if Zimmy rellly did have her eyes clawed out, she may have been the one doing the clawing. She may have felt that if she did not have eyes thet she would not be able to see the things she does, obviously she stilll does, but she may have thought that at the time it would help.

It's also apparent that she CAN still see, possibly in a psychic manner, the physical world or a manifestation of it that allows her to manage in life.

Maybe when she ooks at people she see's alot more then just the surface, and that is why she is always in an alley or in a corner, because it narrows her range of vision.

Hmm, maybe she's shown in a corner because she feels trapped, psychically but not physically? Then Gamma would be a person who would help her find her way out of her mind when she becomes trapped in it.

Again, makes sense, but when does Annie start helping Zimmy find her way out. At first Zimmy seems to hate Annie and then all of a sudden she comes up and says you can help me while Gamma is asleep. when did Zimmy figure this out?

Mrs. Donlan has dark, thin eyes befitting her Romani descent. Zimmy has gaping black holes surrounded by what appears to be thin scars. That's not normal. |

There's also a panel where Annie forces Reynardine to reveal himself, and the teachers are shown silhouetted in black, with their eyes in white. Mrs. Donlan's are visible there. |

That would probably be right about the time she found Gamma, or, that Gamma found her. I say this because in such a state of mental and physical anguish (that'd fucking HURT, you do have nerve ending in your eyes) would attract Gamma if she (gamma) were a psychic grounding wire.

So Zimmy is like a lightning rod in the middle of a thunderstorm. Gamma is a very good cunductive grounding wire, and Annie is not as good a conductor as Gamma?

Well, thanks to todays (January 29, 2007) strip, we know Zimmy really does have eyes under that blackness. We still have no clue why her eyes were that way and how they came to be that way. We also don't know why Zimmy's real eye color is red. Oh, and we don't know what the black stuff is or if it'll come back. All that being said, she actually has pretty eyes...

Heres a guess... maybe her eyes being black is just a way to show her mood.. you know, dark and depresive... and when the rain comes it washes her bad emotions away and her eyes show. Just a guess.. Oradan Edit: spell check  |
