I remember the time when I read GC for the first time, back in the "the Shadow and the Robot" days (actually, I think chapter 3 was up, when I started), and I was wondering how much Puwerpuff Girls influenced the initial character design. Now I can see Tom is a fan as well.

No regrets on this end either Tom. Keep on trucking.

I always said that Tom deserved to be able to go full time more than anyone else in the webcomic world. I'm super happy to learn it's worked out!

I think I joined around the time of Mainly Involves Robots, although I have re-read it several times now so it could be slightly earlier or later, I don't remember!
Thanks for the comic Tom, this is one of my favourites because it doesn't take its audience for fools, yet still has a charming irreverence to it. (This is NOT a secret robot base)

Did anyone else smush their face up against the screen to see if those were new comics on the pad?
In all seriousness, Thanks for the ride, getting excited about the next collection!

I joined when someone on a message board somewhere linked to one of the comics (the one in which Renard does a scary beasty look to scare Jack away) and afterwards I went back and read everything up to that point and started following the comic.
While we're far from a conclusion of any sorts, and the level of surrealism used in the comic is a bit too much at times (especially in the "Pigeon on top of Kat's head" bit) I have to say that your amazing artistic talent and the incredible adherence to schedule, something that annoys the hell out of me in many other comics, keeps me coming back to more on a daily basis.
Also, the update time is really convinient for me, 10:00 AM.

Tom, you are one of the few webcomic success stories. Many try to jump on the bandwagon but few succeed. For that alone you should be incredibly proud. And that doesn't include the fact that your art is much better than any other webcomic I read and that includes Penny-Arcade, VG Cats, The Punchline is Machismo, the Walkyverse comics (somewhat), and in the past more. When you wrap up Gunnerkrigg Court, though this may be in the far future, please begin a new project, and we'll follow.

He has said that this is what he wants to continue doing after Gunnerkrigg is finished too. And as the others have already said; Thank you Tom, for giving us this great story. If any artist deserves the succes he's had it's you.

I don't think I've logged in here since 2009, but I've been lurking this whole time, and keeping up with this amazing comic. It's just progressed into something beautiful over the years, and though I'm often confused as to the direction everything is going, I've really enjoyed the ride! Thanks Tom! I'm also extraordinarily impressed with this community who always seem to pick up on the smallest things that I would have otherwise not seen.

I will join in the thanks and congratulations! I've been lurking for some years now and have reread the comic several times. I was a bit afraid when you announced going freelance full-time as the economic situation in UK is not the best, and it's really nice to know you're doing good!
GC is the first on my list on the MWF schedule. It's one of the few comics that actually taught me things (I've got the ophanim wiki page just opened right now ;-)) and the fact that you engage your audience's brains along with their emotions is a definite plus compared to others. Looking forward to seeing your art continue to evolve too.

This comic has been the first thing I check when I get to work, every MWF. It has been utterly fantastic, and I've enjoyed the last 5 years immensely. Sometimes, I go back and re-read the story again, just to remember what it was like to transition through the artwork. Tom's living the dream! I admit that I totally tried to zoom in to see what was on the storyboard. He is as clever as Coyote, dangling that kind of bait in front of me. .

Love this comic. I started reading when coyote first showed up, some friends were jokingly saying this was the best webcomic ever, and I gave it a read and was really intrigued by it all, and have been (desperately) every MWF for this to come out. It's how I start off my mornings ^^ Thanks so much, Tom! Would love to see where Coyote is going with this

Thank you Tom for making the best comic there is! That's 32 pages of "Annie in the Forest" in the Cintiq right there. What a tease! At the time that picture was taken, the last pages don't seem to have been inked yet.

At first I thought I had clicked on my Goblins shortcut, not my GKC. I saw the text talking about what a good ride it's been and I was like "Oh crap, is Tarol calling it quits? Noooo..... wait, it's signed Tom? Whaaattt?" Then I realized what was going on and felt stupid. Congrats Tom! Keep up the good work.

I'd also like to come in congratulate Tom. Thank you and congratulations on what you've done and continue to do. This is one of the only webcomics I keep up with regularly and it is so worth it. I've actually recently gotten a friend to start reading and he's already caught up to now. I wish you continued luck and here's another number to the people who will be behind you in what you do!

I'm so happy to hear that everything is going well :-D I think that Gunnerkrigg is the best webcomic on the internet today. The quirkiness, characters, art, depth and world development are second to none. Tom deserves the happiness & prosperity! And many cintiqs, robots and Kats to come PS just ordered all 3 vols of GC... so excitement!

You are well admired and loved, deservedly so. I will keep reading for as long as you keep creating.
