What do you think so far? An excellent start! I'm not well versed on the modern incarnation but it looks great and fun to play. One of the things that's slowing me down the most with my expies is shlooping out the text bubbles and unwanted characters and other elements. Is your art final or are these wip? The art is final (though I wish I could find a better picture of Jack). It doesn't bother me extremely that the text bubbles are there - it is a webcomic, after all! If I could get rid of them, I probably would (especially if I could add flavor text without making it look crunched) but I don't care too much, and I don't have the skill or time to invest. And having other characters in the art is fine! WotC does it all the time and it works, as long as the focus is on the right one. I like MSE, because it makes card-making easy haha. Plus, I can print out real cards (rather than paper proxies) and actually play a game. I might make an EDH deck around Kat... (Hey, btw, I am well-versed in the modern incarnation, if you want me to modernize the phrasing on the cards you've made sometime. Or not if you like the old wording also, have you seen the new-ish planeswalker cards?)

I just realized I should probably mention this. You can make permanent proxies without printing on cardstock. I made 50 cards of my own design over a couple hours. Here's the process:
1: make cards, and print them on transparency paper at the correct size. MSE makes this easier (and also has the old card frame included in the software). If you can, print them left-right reversed. The reason is obvious when you see how they print.
2: take some old foil cards (only works on foils from before Mercadian Masques) and remove the inking from the front side with acetone. I bought 50 foil copies of some terrible common, I forget which one.
3: use transparent spray-on glue to affix the two together (carefully smoothing to remove bubbles).
They look fantastic! Cost me $30 to make them all, plus some time to get the process right. They're a little thicker than normal cards but they work well and have the correct backing. I've used proxies of expensive cards in tournament games (which is allowed at my FNM if your opponent is willing to accept it).

On the subject of non-gkc mtg, anyone want to help me with my EDH deck that I'm currently working on?

Putting this in two posts because I'm still trying to figure out how to show images properly here.
Anyway, for this past couple of weeks or so I've been using way too much spare time working on my own take on a GC MTG card set. I'm still not satisfied with a lot of what I've come up with so far, but with the Zim Grim comic coming out today, I got inspired to finish up my Zimmy & Gamma designs and put them through Cardsmith. Let me know what you think, both GC fans and MTG buffs!
EDIT: OK seriously, does anyone know how to enlarge the images shown here? I know I've seen people post at least decently-sized images on this forum before, but I'm kind of stumped as to how.
