he seems to like playing the blame game, and since the only place he thinks it could have come from is the court he blames them.

Ysengrin definitely doesn't seem suited to the role of diplomat. (Of course, he might not have come to the Court on a diplomatic errand; he might be there to announce a declaration of war, or the Gillitie Wood equivalent of one.)
We now have confirmation that the Tic-Toc Birds don't answer to the school, and that they're as much a mystery to the teachers as they are to us. Which raises the question: who *is* behind the Tic-Tocs? (It's a pity that we don't know how long they've been at Gunnerkrigg, beyond the fact that they were there at the time of the first chapter. Are they a relatively recent arrival, like Annie? Or have they been there for years?)

Right before crushing the Tic-Toc, his left arm seems to be shaking again (in the second panel)...I wonder if it's either a nervous or an angry twitch?

Where's Zimmy when you need her. She seemed to know more about the birds.
Fact remains that they saved Annie's life.

Ironically, Ysengrin would be even more angry (if that's even possible; I get the idea the guy's just perpetually angry and all of this is only a reason for him to show his anger, one he's been waiting for for a long time) if he knew that.

Similar to todd's wonderings, my question is: did the tic-tocs fly in from somewhere (and if so, why did they settle here?), or did some "renegade" person from the Court make them without tipping anyone else off? And again, if so, for what cause?

I'm thinking maybe they may have some tie in with Surma or Annie's father...
This is just pure speculation though... they never really discuss what Annie's father does besides disappear and what have you... Notice how you never really see the Tic Toc's really watch anyone besides Annie or what she creates... like Robot!
But then again it could be because it's fundamentally through Annie's eyes.
I take that bit back about the father... after going through the archives I realize that it says her father's a surgeon... hur hur hur...
Well my theory just got debunked.

Oh another bit...
Maybe the tic toc's saved Annie or watch Annie in the case as an excuse to go into Gillitie woods to interface and thats why they saved her?
