I know what you meant. I for one, welcome our outlandish overlords. Your head will be destroyed LAST OF ALL HEADS. As for the rest of your body? GOOD LUCK.

I just really want to see Volume 2 in Topatoco. I want to bundle the court symbol shirt and all 3 books into one package, but I'm still waiting on volume 2. Then again, it might just ship them separately anyways.

Psst, I got a brand new copy of volume 2 on ebay for $26! But to properly patronize Tom, I got volume 3 and a couple of T-shirts on the TopatoCo store. This is quite a splurge for me! See, I don't have an income...

Err, oh dear. The ebay listing of book 2 I linked to has now gone up to 70 dollars in just a few days.

Then again, it might just ship them separately anyways. I have to disappoint you, unfortunately. Except for Tom's vague statement, there is no indication that Topatoco will restock volume 2. I spoke with them, and let me quote: That was nearly a month ago. I'd think that any (quoting Tom) "shipment en-route to Topatoco right now" would reach by now.

What I find most confusing is that about one and a half months ago there was this statement directly from Archaia saying that the new printing was already being shipped. Archaia interns actually showed the books. So they do exist. Question is, where are they and what happened to them?

We have two facts: 1) This tweet by Tom. 2) Volume 2 wasn't available at Topatoco since then, and I'm watching closely.

Archaia did have them, since I purchased one while their product link was active. I find it difficult to understand what's going on, here. Did they have them? (Yes; I got one.) Did they say they were shipping them to Topataco? (Yes; I'll take Tom's word on that.) So, where the heck did they go? Even if it's a very small shipment, surely some books would've shown up and been on the site.

Hopefully we will see them appearing very soon. Why would they print them and then just hold onto them?

To clarify my previous rather non-descriptive post (if you didn't click the link): Volume 2 is in stock at Topatoco

I walked into a Barnes & Noble recently. Most of the nonfiction was gone and replaced by puzzles and kids toys. I guess it's the price to pay to stay in business these days, but still... damn.
The only thing sadder than that was seeing Borders' going-out-of-business-sale. Not only were the books all marked down seventy percent, they were selling the shelves and leasing the building space itself.
Pretty soon I won't have any place to just sit, browse and people-watch. You can't make fun of someone's scarf if they're sitting at home staring at their Kindle.

The only thing sadder than that was seeing Borders' going-out-of-business-sale. Not only were the books all marked down seventy percent, they were selling the shelves and leasing the building space itself. The Barnes and Noble that I most recently visited still had a good supply of books, but I share your concerns - and I miss Borders as well. (The local Borders was much bigger than the local Barnes and Noble - two stories, where the Barnes and Noble had one - and so had a much bigger supply.) To me, one of the biggest losses with bookstores going out of business is that I often first learn about such-and-such-a-book because I saw it on the shelf in a bookstore (or a library). You can't order one from Amazon.com if you don't know it exists.

Exactly. I had never heard of Albert of Adelaide before I walked into the store on December 24th looking for something my dad would like, but it turned out to be a charming story about an escaped platypus and a pyromaniacally-inclined wombat that get really drunk and almost die several times.
All I can find on Amazon is the top 100 sellers in each category, or the big hits for that genre that (surprise) also sell well. I don't want to read Foundation for the sixth time, dammit, I want some fresh sci-fi!

In the interest of Science (and also having all the books), I've tried ordering Vol. 2 from three different online retailers who claim to have it in stock: Barnes & Noble, DeepDiscount, and Archaia.
B&N cancelled my order after about 12 hours, with no explanation; I've since sent them an email, but they haven't responded yet. Presumably it's out of stock, although there's no indication of such on the website.
DeepDiscount charged my card, which most reputable online retailers only do once an order has shipped, and then changed the order status to "Backordered." The item page still claims that it will ship in 5-10 days; we'll see how that goes, but I'm not holding my breath.
Archaia still has my order listed as "Awaiting Payment" for some reason. Maybe they process the cards manually, and I ordered while the store is closed? We'll see next week.

GAH!So I have been waiting for Volume 2 to be in print from topatoco so that I could get all three volumes and only pay one lot of postage. I have just been on there. Volume 2 is not available, and neither is volume 1 Volume 2 has the following message: "Oh no! Our supply of this item has suddenly become temporarily exhausted! An order has been placed for new ones. Reprinting items usually return within two weeks!" Volume 1: "Whoa! This item is temporarily out of stock. It'll be back when we get more in stock!" Sigh. Also, While I am going to buy them anyway, are there any special things in the paper copies, or are they just the webcomic in paper?

There's a few pages of sketches at the end of each book.

Also there's an extra 113 hidden somewhere among the pages.
There actually isn't

It's also worth noting that the print versions lack some of the material from the online archives. Specifically, the "hiatus" pages that went up between ch 14 and 15, as well as the bonus pages about Grand Theft Auto, Metal Gear Solid 4, and Princess Mononoke.
There's also a few minor dialog tweaks in Volume 1.

Reprinting items usually return within two weeks!" Volume 1: "Whoa! This item is temporarily out of stock. It'll be back when we get more in stock!" Huh. Am I reading too much into things, or does the difference between those two messages mean there are no immediate plans to reprint Vol. 1? Also: Barnes and Noble got back to me and confirmed that they do not actually have Vol. 2 (or, in their words, that they were "unable to obtain a copy"). The website still lets you add it to an order, and still tells you it'll ship within 24 hours, but...well, it won't.

I got vol. 2 from topatoco for Christmas! Also you shouldn't browse rl bookstores and then buy from amazon because THAT IS HOW BOOKSTORES DIE. Why would go to a bookstore, choose not to give them your business, and then complain about them failing? Amazon is evil. (I don't get provoked over many things but bookstores/libraries is one of them. I have a lot of feelings about books, okay?)

I'll resume shopping in bookstores when they'll resume having the books I want. Seconded! When I walked in they had an entire section titled: "Paranormal Teen Romance". I almost committed a very serious act of arson right there in front of God and everybody.

I'll resume shopping in bookstores when they'll resume having the books I want. I didn't mean you have to go to bookstores, just that you shouldn't use their resources and then spend your money elsewhere. But, just so you know, you can order any book you want from b&n and it will be at their store within a week. Then, you can go back and buy it, but you're under no obligation to if you decide you don't want to.
