I had to register so I could say Mr. Donlan wins everything forever. Seriously. He might be my new favorite character.

Someone's itching to get Coolest Dad of the Year Award. He'd start showing off the tattoo next, but he knows it's not necessary.

I second that motion! XD
I'm so glad we got to learn, not just about Annie's father (who seems to have been redeemed some), but we now know who the BEST character/fatherly person in this whole series is. Take THAT Reynard!

"Thanks for mind-reading". ;D The second thought: "he should have been a very nasty opponent on those fencing lessons"... Edit: Have we ever seen Annie blush before? I'm almost sure we did, but can't remember where, other than the cherry tree.

Edit: Have we ever seen Annie blush before? Her telling the foley kids that she was trained by yesngrim and coyote comes to mind. And I think someone asked the same thing then. Why do people think Annie doesn't blush?

I, and I think a lot of us (based on some posts from the last thread), were expecting some sort of drama or cliff-hanger when we realized the last strip wasn't the end of chapter.
It's nice to see that this is actually what the end plan was.
Also, this chapter was really more about Donnie than it was Annie's Dad, eh?

Love the way Tom flipped the script in this chapter, making us think we're about to learn more about Anthony and it turns out we're really learning more about Donald. Well done!

Oh, right, when she caused the infamous "coyo'derp". ;D Couldn't find that one panel, thanks. Isn't it always, isn't it always...

Tom, you've done it again. More wonderful use of camera angles to make us think are three-dimensional. Wondefully done!

Annie looks so calm in the first panel. I love the way that the telescope disappears. Donny is indeed the greatest dad figure that I ever read about.

Why do people think Annie doesn't blush? We know she does, but much like her father, she hardly displays any emotion. Its just...an interesting experience when she does.

Having just done the newbie's full archive scan, I had been wondering whether Anne really would get to meet her father here (Panel 294 suggests it'll be at least another year, Court Time)

Having just done the newbie's full archive scan, I had been wondering whether Anne really would get to meet her father here (Panel 294 suggests it'll be at least another year, Court Time) Tom's comments under the comic would lead one to believe that this phone call is the contact Annie is referring to on page 294. "Hear from..." or something like that, not see. If I'm not mistaken. So now we literally have nothing to go on now, as far as when we'll ever actually see Anthony with Annie in the comic.

On the one hand, this will not stop us speculating endlessly ;D On the other hand, this is probably exactly what Tom wanted from this chapter: lead us just a little further up the garden path, leaving us wanting much, much more

On the one hand, this will not stop us speculating endlessly ;D All-out nuclear war might achieve that. Maybe. But I wouldn't bet heavily on it.
