I really like the glowing halo effect around the characters in this page. I've never seen such vivid use of colour in a comic.

In the first two panels, the touching just seems like a friendly greeting. But then the third panel guy touching Annie creeps me out a little - he's like the awkward guy that doesn't let go when he shakes hands. I think it's just a timing thing: he happened to be in the queue for greeting Annie when yellow-hair spotted the connection.

I've just thought, these are some of very few pages based in the ether that still have actual panels. Normally everything is twisted together e.g. using Annie's hair to separate the action. I suppose it just helps the action flow better in this case.

Quick observation: It seems that all of the other Foley students' eyes are gray, but Annie's eyes still look normal. People have pointed out that all "converted" fairies have grey eyes.

Also, after looking at her hair again, I think Red may have gone super Saiyan. Exactly what I thought.

I have to agree with everyone else that Annie's going to finally go about in the ether without the blinker stone in this chapter. Or so I hope.

I always love pages like this, if only for how fantastic everyone's hair always looks.

Doing without the blinkerstone is the lesson Jones wants Annie to learn. Jones doesn't necessarily have a master plan behind everything. She just noticed that Annie knew somebody in the class, and thought that letting her join the lesson would be a valuable experience for her. Jones with her perfect poker-face gets what she wants done in particular cases, and we still got no idea what she wants to to achieve in general. Here's a thought: after Annie felt like returning home to good friends back in the Wood, now at the first convenient opportunity she was given a taste of the same in the Court. So, for carefully keeping her hanging between here and there, another sneaky point goes to Jones. I'd imagine that the idea of "personal space" becomes rather different; they're just being friendly. Good point. I guess it just looks strange to me, almost like their petting her or playing with her hands the way some people do with babies. I'm not sure this even counts as a "touch" in the normal sense. As opposed to an empathic contact, attempt to instinctively understand the other party's basic nature, and so on. Also, good avatar. It just does a lot of fuzzy weighted addition. At least according to the simplest models. That's not very meaningful: basic elements of most IC logic types do what?.. mostly NAND? And where it ends? As to a less-simple model, what recognition run on? IIRC, first spatial Fourier-chewing, then quasiholographic functions?.. Calling it now, Annie will learn to fully separate her mind from her body, which will become immediately useful against Jeanne (with Parley helping of course). As blackmantha already mentioned, Annie can do without a blinker with some effort. But indoors the problem seems to be in that wingspan. I always love pages like this, if only for how fantastic everyone's hair always looks. ...it goes up again! ;D

The first panel looks more like everybody is trying to shake her hand at once.

Aha! I knew it! She will learn how to let her body do other things while she is in the ether! This has just gotten logarithmically cooler.
I am also pleased to know you don't need your mind to learn about difficult maths. I knew it was a conspiracy, the professors lied to me all those years ago. While I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment, I don't believe the expression is quite correct. [...] As you can see, this function represents an almost vertical increase in in coolness with respect to time (a sentiment with which I'm inclined to agree when it comes to GKC). I would therefore suggest that exponential coolness is a far more apt descriptor for this plot line than logarithmic coollness. ;D I specifically registered to say how awesome you are. OK, I also just realized that might sound a little lame. But there goes.

I certainly plan to join in on future discussion of this awesome comic, though. Anyway, thanks. *high five* (P.S. If your username is a play on "assimilate this," you are also quite awesome.)
