Ahhhhhhh.
Ok, guess that was the end of our chapter for real...
I'm with Annie, I fully expected Kat to break down sobbing... Guess she's stronger than I expected.

"You don't have to hide your tears"? You're one to talk, Annie. (I kid, I kid.)
Kat is apparently feeling a plethora of emotions, but she's choosing to be thankful for what she had rather than pitying or resentful about what could have been.
I'm down for guitars and monster trucks.

I'm still not past the wanton child abuse and lack of reaction thereto by the other characters, but I think it's just me.

I'm all for a new chapter. This one left everyone bickering and I don't like that.
Guitars and monster trucks, eh? I can't really see Annie into that sort of thing, and Kat, well, maybe, but I doubt it and in any case we aren't likely to get a new Kat-centred chapter so soon. Hmmm . . . this sounds like a job for . . . SULLIVAN'S JOHN!
Also, it'll be fun to see what Tom comes up with as a bonus page for this here chapter.
Oh, and lastly, go Kat! It's always good to be thankful for what you had and what you got.

It's probably safe to explore Gillittie Wood in a Monster Truck (here's me hoping). May Kat enhance it in various ways!
And GC must have school band. With Zimmy on drums. Bah-da-boommm!

Count me as another person who must congratulate Kat on her mature response to the whole thing: focusing on the many happy memories that she's going to have of Alistair's visit, rather than on the fact that she's never going to see him again.
I assume that Tom was joking about the electric guitars and monster trucks, but we won't know for certain until Chapter Fourteen starts. (And, yes, I can't imagine Annie being that excited about either one myself. Kat would certainly be interested in the electric guitars, though I don't know about the monster trucks. I can definitely see Winsbury being excited about monster trucks and wanting to drive one if he could get away with it, though nobody with an ounce of sense is going to let *him* climb into the driver's seat of one!)
Maybe the bonus page will be Tea giving another one of her exposition speeches, this one about the kind of birds that Aly and his parents became and their natural history. (Given that they've got human hair, they're obviously very remarkable birds - not that I'd expect anything else from the fauna of Gillitie Wood.) But we'll know what it is come Wednesday.

Haha, that last panel gave me the impression that Kat grabbed Annie into the hug, taking her quite by surprise. Annie doesn't seem like a touchy-feely sort of person to me (or someone who's comfortable with dealing with emotions altogether), so it was great to see her caring for Kat. When I saw "electric guitars and monster trucks" I was like, "Yeah! Bring it on!" But now I see it's a joke. I'm disappointed

Bravo to Kat! I don't think I would've ever been able to handle this situation like she did. She's happy, so that makes me happy! Great chapter ending as always;)
Monster trucks and electric guitars, eh? Well, if that's true, I wouldn't be too surprised...this might be a new chapter with the crazy doctor/professor whose name I can't remember right now. Hey, it's GC, a lot of things can happen...

I drew a picture like that, but Zimmy was on the bass. Kat + Rey had wicked guitar solos, Basil on drums, Winsbury pulling a Halford, and Mort with maracas.

I was expecting Kat to be more teary, in light of her remark in Chapter Eight about how she never wanted to experience losing someone dear to her again, but then I realized that the situation was different there. Aly wasn't knocked off a bridge to his apparent death; he just embarked on a new life (if a bizarre one) with his family in Gillitie Wood.

But think "Keith Moon" and then picture Zimmy. She'd lay down a merciless beat. Come to think of it: Merciless Beat would be a cool name for a band!

Awwww, Kat is reacting well. I'd imagine she's feeling pretty bittersweet about this whole thing, but she's good at seeing the best in everything. Just reminding me why I love Kat.

One odd thought that I just had: if Winsbury ever finds out what happened to Alistair, he's probably going to be kicking himself in frustration over all the things that he could have done if he'd known about that metamorphosis. "I could have put a big dish full of birdseed in front of him and said, 'Eat up, now.' I could have placed giant stuffed cats in his room! Aargghhhh!"

Poor Kat. I feel for Aly, too, though he seems to be taking it pretty well. Kat, too. So I guess it's not a cause of too much sadness. Things certainly could have gone much worse, so I suppose there's nothing to cry about.
All things considered, I suppose it's for the best that this happened when it did. Imagine if Kat had gotten to know Aly for months or even a year or two prior; The poor girl would probably be devastated. :^(
