A lot of people seem to dislike Eglamore because Annie dislikes him, but that's probably the main reason why I like him such a lot. His ambiguity is really what makes me interested, and I frankly don't care whether or not he's a jerk (we haven't eactually seen much proof of this either, he's just unpleasant).

I don't even see him as unpleasant. I think he's genuinely concerned, and that makes him come across as a bit tightly wound. Just because Annie doesn't like him doesn't make him a bad guy. She probably has her reasons, but at the same time she doesn't yet know or understand his reasons.

For some reason Eglamore just annoys me, probably a subconcious reason that I will never figure out.

I guess I oughta make my presence known. I can't believe I missed out on the link to this forum for so long.
Anywho, like a lot of people, I like Mr. Eglamore, and like a lot of people, I like him because he's recently been revealed to be not nearly as nice as originally portrayed. A lot of other people don't like him for that exact same reason. He's slowly becoming less and less likable as a character. Generally generating an air of mistrust that isn't easily missed.
But for better or for worse, and weather he's a hero or a villain, I think I'll keep liking him.
A close second for me is Mort. He seems like a nice guy, and pretty attached to classic ideals. I'm sure I'm not the only person wondering what he was like before he became a ghost, but I'm pretty sure that anyone who, after becoming a ghost, decides to take up the appearance of the classic "bed-sheet phantasm" instead of something more gruesome must be a nice guy.
I'm certain I'll enjoy it when his background is looked further upon.

Well My favorite characters are the Suicide Faeries. They have a goal to reach and don't care how it's acomplished. It's also funny to see them beg to be smashed. "and squash us flat!" One of the things I don't get about them is the location... I mean if other "Faeries" some how passed the "test" they must have picked the right location. And who are these "Faeries?" Have we met them yet?
Second Character I like is Janet... She's the "dont take crud" type of girl and knows what she wants.
P.S. I like the way she speaks.

Incidentally, I wonder if "Suicide Faeries" is the most accurate description for them, simply because the rules don't allow them to actually take their own lives; they have to get someone else to do it to them. Maybe "Assisted Suicide Faeries", instead?

Yeah but she might do something creepy like eat their souls or something.

They should ask Zimmy. She'd probably pretend they were spiders.

Or maybe they should try getting Janet to come out into the woods and when she does so, call *her* fat. (I found myself wondering suddenly today if maybe that's the real reason why they made that remark about Annie - trying to provoke her into squashing them - unaware that she's got too much self-control for that.)

If they called Janet fat, they probably wouldn't just die, they'd be annihalated (I just know I spelled that wrong...)

Yeah, but does annihilation (I probably did too) kill the soul as well? Or whatever part of them proceeds to the Crag?

Ah, I really can't choose between Annie, Kat, Gamma and Zimmy, each for their own reasons. Though I am compelled to do Zimmy fanart as soon as I have the time, since there is a sad lack of it.

My personal favorite character is definitaly Reynardine: He might have an evil attitude, but I believe that, deep down, he has a good soul.
Next on my list is Kat, because I can relate to her easily and she's just a fun type of person.
Annie comes next...she's still a mystery to me and that's what seduces me about her character.
Then, there's M. Eglamore which some people here either like or dislike...I must say that I like him because of this "father figure" feeling that I get from him towards Annie.

#1: Reynardine ftw. How many insane body-snatching demons have you met that were as kickass as him?
#2: Robot He's a robot. 'nuff sed.
#3: Kat I like nerds!

Raynardine is the obvious first choice. Zimmy's my second favorite, for being the demented looney she is.

All of the characters are interesting and I enjoy reading about them. In spite of this, I don't like Reynardine or Ysengrim. Y because of his smirk during the line, "We heard one of your students fell to their death"; and Rey because of his lack of remorse about trying to kill Annie.
Antimony is definitely my favorite character. While she doesn't emote much, her actions show that she is a complex (and paradoxical) person. She has difficulty interacting with other people her own age, but no problem speaking with ghosts, gods, psychopomps, mythical beasts, and wolf-trees. She's very studious, but she doesn't hesitate to skip Karmatron Dynamics to help Kat. She's very polite towards the adults, but if she thinks they're full of crap, she'll say so (in the politest way possible). And she seems to trust the demon who tried to kill her more than the man who saved her from said demon.
Never mind the robots, gods, and people with superpowers; Antimony is the biggest mystery in Gunnerkrigg Court.

I would have to say my 2 definite favourites are Mort and Gamma, just cause they're both so sweet. That and I love Gamma's character design. Anyway aside from those two I guess next would be Coyote and Reynardine. After that I stop being choosy. =P

Reynardine's gardening remark has consolidated his top position on my personal favchar list. I like bad guys with attitude.

Zimmy and Gamma equally, because you can't have one without the other, and I love their "story".
On second thoughts, Parley caught me when she was introduced. And it's not because she has an accent similar to mine. Nope.

Gardener man has made my list.
Headmaster guy is my favorite as of now, I'm waiting for more to be revealed about him because so far we only have his interesting mannerisms and appearance. Eglamore is second, because we already know a lot about him but the more we know about him the more questions arise. And third is gardener man, just because he gave a good first impression with these first two appearances. Hopefully they won't be his last.

I'm a HUGE Reynardine fan, though you wouldn't know it with the amount of art I do of Antimony...
But I adore Annie too... that's the thing XD
So those two are defenitly tied. I love biting wit, and both of them kind of exude this characteristic.
As for Eglamore... I think he's fine, the only thing I really dislike about him is his uncanny attachment to Annie's mum.
The fact he though of her more as Surma than Annie, made me lean slightly towards the unhappy side with him.
I just don't like people that can't let go of their pasts I guess... well to an extent.
