Heh, I love it how Annie switches from "gosh golly what could it be!?" to "Hi there Lindsey!" without batting an eye. ;D I also love Lindsey's sense of humor.

It's funny, I was just thinking about how different Annie's reaction to a giant scary monster was from when she and Kat met Basil. She may have freaked out at first, but she still is much less perturbed than Kat around freaky animals.

Haha, a huge crab-monster named Lindsey with a Phd in engineering. God i love your humor, Tom!
On another note, i think i'll give up for now Max, i'm too often inconvinienced for this to be doable.

I agree with edzepp, where did Lindsey get her PhD?? Is there some university that educates giant crabs?

I agree with edzepp, where did Lindsey get her PhD?? Is there some university that educates giant crabs? Well, the most obvious answer would be: At Gunnerkrigg Court. Many former students find employment at their University.

Dr. Lindsey is clearly the coolest crab there is.
I kind of hope the 'bonus' page for this chapter is Rey and Lindsey hanging out. What would a bodysnatching fox and a giant crab with a doctorate talk about?

Giant engineer crab. DO NOT attack its structures' weak points as this may cause MASSIVE DAMAGE. You could get detention as a result.

She's talking in Stephen Hawkings computer voice, isn't she? She is a she, right? Or is Lindsey a male name for crabs?

Gender Mainly female, also male Meaning Linden trees near the water Origin English/Scottish Related names Lindsey, Lyndsay, Lyndsey, Lynsey, Lynsay, Linzey, Lynzi, Lynzie, Lynsi, Linzie, Lindsy, Lyndsy, Lindy, Linzi I think she's a she because her dialog sounds 'she-ish' to me plus... well, I was about to say a female should be watching over the girls dorm but there might be a boys dorm in the same tank.

This last string of strips definitely has a . . . classic Gunnerkrigg feel to me. I like it.

Heh, I love it how Annie switches from "gosh golly what could it be!?" to "Hi there Lindsey!" without batting an eye. ;D I recon, these are two different reactions, even before they ran. Kat was freaking out just from the sight, Annie was surprised, but merely escaping a danger. You see the result: how Annie was all practical about it and now quickly dropped it when perceived that the situation changed. Why would she freak out after she saw the true form of a god and lived the whole summer in the Wood? I also love Lindsey's sense of humor. At least now we know Lindsey isn't Jones. Lindsey! I wonder if she's magical. We won't know until Annie will cease to slowpoke around and for once use the Blinker ( which she has in her left hand now) to look around. This could be a more worthwile effort than trying to make her hair go up again.

Huh, Kat doesn't seem absolutely freaked out.
If I saw a giant ass crab I would freak the hell out for HOURS!!
Guess living in the Court for your entire life does that, you don't adapt fully to weird stuff but you deal with it better.

So I'm reading the computer speaking for the structural engineer as if it were some kind of text to speech program on a PC and cannot for the life of me figure out how one could ever add emphasis like this one does in panel 5. Isn't it a little contradictory to put the speech in that typeface and then try to make some words bold for emphasis? The entire idea of that font is that the speech is even and uniform.

Make the word stretch out longer? Haha. C'mon, it's artistic interpretation. There's a giant, sentiant crab speaking with two little girls and a demi-god inside a plushie. I think it'll be fine if Tom pushes the limitations of computer audio output, here.
