I do hope that in a page in the very near future, they will hug.

Kat, what you should think is that friends are the people who have enough slack to make huge mistakes with you, even as you can make huge mistakes with them. That's all.
I love Kat's face in the last panel.

At least she knew the reason.
Emotions are gettin' complex right now.

I do hope that in a page in the very near future, they will hug. 5 bucks says it's either next comic or the comic after that.

Wow. That actually surprised me more than a lot of things in this comic. I expected Kat to be far more, well, resentful.

well, that clears up alot, but not everything, I wonder how long it will take until they "really" are friends again? She seems 90% sad and 10% frustrated/angry about it, maybe 80/20, so probably not too long. Probably after she has had a chance to grab her stuff and get settled?

Kat looks adorable in the last panel!
Much more progress than I expected, which I'm glad for. I don't think I could stand them not communicating for too long.

Awkward angle up the nose in panel 5. She reminds me of the Smurfs for some reason. Wow. That actually surprised me more than a lot of things in this comic. I expected Kat to be far more, well, resentful. Me too. I think it is actually more like Kat to be this way, now that I think of it.

Tom has gotten good at subtle face expressions. Pannel 3 is so great.

Well that... actually went quite a bit better than I expected. Tom has gotten good at subtle face expressions. Pannel 3 is so great. I could just about hear her sigh when I read that panel.

I liked her answer, now I want to like Annie's answer because it needs to be good. It'd be somewhat predictable, but it kinda sets up for an awkward surprise -non pleasant- visit for the next page.
Also: Kat's wearing something on her neck... I wonder if it means something or if we'll get a closer look...

Good that she got that off her chest so early in the chapter. Would've been horrible to draw it out and have Annie and Kat not talking for that whole time =<

Wow. That actually surprised me more than a lot of things in this comic. I expected Kat to be far more, well, resentful. I think she is resentful, but she also feels sympathetic to what Annie went through. So it's complicated. She needs to express that she's been hurt, but doesn't want to get mad at Annie, because frankly, Kat's not an fiery person. I don't think she quite knows how to express what's going on inside her.

Also: Kat's wearing something on her neck... I wonder if it means something or if we'll get a closer look... Doubt it means anything as it looks like a simple choker style necklace, I think we've seen annie wear them before. It might be significant in the fact that we haven't seen Kat wear a necklace of any kind, but then again, it may just be a souvenir.

I'm actually still mad that we missed an entire summer in the forest, and that Tom is teasing us with the Mystery of Jones.

Wow. That actually surprised me more than a lot of things in this comic. I expected Kat to be far more, well, resentful. I did too. But it makes sense, she has been shown to have a much better handle on expressing herself emotionally than Antimony. Not to mention she has had an entire summer to think about how she feels, and probably what she wanted to say. And I think it's fair to say that the resentment may show up later. However it did throw me for a loop just how honest and straightforward she was about what happened, and I give her props for doing so. It also provided a interesting contrast to Annie's clumsily and not fully expressed apology.

Awkward angle up the nose in panel 5. She reminds me of the Smurfs for some reason. looking-up-at-faces angles are super hard to draw. I prefer this to the same top down view of the face every panel. And this progress is making me happy, I like that these characters have the maturity to try to make up and share their feelings even when feeling hurt and vulnerable. Been thinking about all the epic times these two have had together and what a loss it would be if they can't get over this bump all the way.

Hey, anyone else think that one of the purposes of this page was to show-off/practice Kat's new hairstyle from all angles?

So, what are we going to do with all the drama popcorn we made for Monday's page? We clearly jumped the gun here.

Yay, open conversation! Now if Annie gives an equally honest explanation that might save their friendship yet.

Anja was partly right when she feared it was her fault. The real catalyst (if not cause) for Annie's flight to the forest was discovering the truth about her mother's death, but Anja contributed to it by telling Annie about how Surma lied to Renard.

I really like Kat. Its scary to tell a friend you're angry at them but you won't get passed it if you just deny you were angry.
