Yay! Go Annie, this is a lot better than what she did look like and about exactly what I hoped would happen. ^^
Thanks Tom!
See, these cliches (you look perfect just the way you are) become cliches because a lot of times they're true... Like this. Kat doesn't -do- makeup, and thats one of the reasons Aly likes her.

Ow, my eyes hurt... but I was so happy to see that last panel!
'Twas good of Annie to help out.

Hmm, if we keep Aly (as you suggested in the Alchemy thread) I wonder what that means about Aly's assertions that he's only there for a week?
I'd bring up the title, but even if Aly stays, the comic wont focus quite as much on her and she'll make up with Annie, (probably as a result of this comic) and it wont be just for Kat anymore.

I am cynicism incarnate, and hence believe that not putting ANY makeup on at all will just infuriate Kat again. Eventually Annie will decide to give her some light mascara, but insist that she'd look fine without it.

I'm predicting a hysterical "You just want to stop me having make-up so you can be all pretty and steal him away form me WAAAH!!" from Kat . . .

She IS wearing makeup. A thin line of eyeshadow.

You know that Kat did a horrendous job of putting make-up on when it has the impact on Annie that it did in Panel 1. But I've got to admit that Annie's solution is just the sort that I'd expect her to come up with. (Mind you, I've sometimes wondered why Annie wears make-up, since she's shown no signs of wanting to attract boys to herself. Maybe it's a reflection of her slightly otherworldly nature. Fortunately, she's able to handle it much more tastefully than Kat was doing.) The fact that Alistair is only staying at the school for a week (which is now almost up) argues against his becoming a regular (and particularly a regular in the sense of the old "trio of young adventurers, two of one gender and one of the opposite" variety). On the other hand, who knows? Maybe he'll change his mind, or maybe he'll be permanently enrolled in the Court next school year. We'll just have to see.

Well, the title is "A Week for Kat", not "A Week of Alistair". Aly didn't know what he was doing after the week, so it's still possible his parents decide Gunnerkrigg is the place for him to stay. The fact that he is a child of the same age with a mysterious special ability inclines me to think he may be more than just a passing bit character. Nevertheless, you're probably right. I guess I got caught up in a little wishful thinking.

Annie's makeup is made out of Antimony... Convenient. Also, it's probably something her mother did.
