Did Tom ever explain who this girl with the white hair is? I mean, you see her in the early explanations of gunnerkrig, but then she just up and disapears, it's not like it's that important, but I was hoping maybe tom explained that on a previous comment and I pretty much completely missed it.

I mean, are they initial character design but then he liked them so much that he painted it? possible future characters? WHAT ARE THEY!!!
by the way, just received the book, it's lovely.

She's Tea, sort of a mascot, I think. The boy is a pint-sized representation of a certain webcomic author. Note the filename "meantea" or "Me an' Tea".

You can see a little more of them in a neat little series on Tom's Digital Hills page. (The one about the slugs)
I love the way Tea comes across in that mini-comic! (Tom's not half bad either!)
I'd also like to know how Tea is supposed to be pronounced...

I don't think Tom was answering the original question. He has already stated he likes to watch us all speculate. I don't think he'll ever give us any straight answers about the story...
Tom goes by the nym "tea-san" on other forums. So "me an' tea" may only mean the girl is with Tom. The "Slug Dub" comic doesn't name the girl, unless the "Plateau" on her visor is her name.
I don't think Tom actually confirmed which one is "Tea" in the pic. The only thing we really know is that Tea (or tea-san) is pronounced like the great British cuppa caffeine.

Nah I'm pretty sure the white haired girl is named Tea. I get the feeling a lot of people completely overanalyze Tom.

I think he's said her name directly on his deviantart page, but I'm too lazy to check. Doesn't Tea call him Tom in the slugdub comic anyway?
And yes, we tend to forget that Tom is but a man.

Overanalyze... that's half the fun of the comic. So many unanswered questions. So many clues, many without obvious connections. I think Tom's laid down a lot of clues for things upcoming. But I doubt any of us will guess right. I think he enjoys watching us overanalyze stuff. It's part of the package deal: He entertains us; we entertain him.
I don't think anything in the comic is incidental, except the T-shirt references. There's two general possibilities for the future. Either every detail will get woven together into a tight storyline, or else the episodes will continue to leave lots of questions hanging, by design. I won't guess which way will come true. But I do think Tom intentionally leaves us questioning everything. Overanalyzing is almost expected.
... what's amazing is that the comic can be enjoyed without analyzing anything. You don't need to dig to enjoy the stories, but there is some depth if you want to dig.

I think and hope the comic will never (before the end) come to a point where all the questions are answered. But then, currently we seem to get two new questions for every answer, plus a few more for the pot.
