I love Annie's face in the first panel. "Goddamn it, stop interrupting!"
The secret agent guy beside Shell there looks familiar for some reason.

I'll go out on a limb here and suggest that on Friday we'll find out that Annie is actually asking them to help Jack. Perhaps as a misdirection. Yes, I know Annie doesn't really consider Jack her friend.

Hmm, for some reason I already don't like that big dude. No idea why, though. :o)

What exactly is it Tom knows?Ah, site problems, which are now fixed. Nevermind.
Also: do all the Court officials know who Reynard is, in all his forms?

This guy reminds me of Lurch of the Addams Family, what with his imposing posture and barely moving face...

Oooowh, real smooth Carver. I really hope the court believes her "Help me, my bodyguard/friend/doll is in pain."-act. Otherwise it could be getting real messy. I'm this weekend away (that includes Friday) and can't look on the internet. But I really want to see the next update! Have to wait, the good side is that when I come back the Monday-update is also near.

Remember, when Annie gets caught, she never tries to get out of it. She just needs help. whether or not she'll get it remains to be seen

In Panel 4 she's annoyed at being interrupted. In panel 5 she is pleading for help. It smells fishy.

Annie is very clever and knows what she wants and how she wants it.

Day after tomorrow. The secret agent guy beside Shell there looks familiar for some reason. That's because it's Eglamore. Ha ha! Really, it's the hair. For some reason, I love the way that big dude squints his eyes... If you're being subtle, then yes, I agree.

Hah, that big dude totally is Vincent D'Onofrio. Uncanny.
Also, I don't get Annie's plan. That is, if she actually is playing damsel in distress.

Yeah, I imagine they were all briefed about Annie having possession over him shortly after Anja, Donald, and Eglamore found out. They wouldn't keep something like that a secret. Also, nobody seemed surprised when Rey showed up at the meeting last summer. Squints is kind of a hard man to read. Also his hair looks a lot like Jacks...hmmm... I wonder...Nah, I'm probably way off.

I don't understand why people think she's either a) becoming a damsel in distress, or b) playing at being a damsel in distress to con someone.
Maybe she's just a girl who has a friend who is in terrible pain and she wants someone to help her make it stop? I don't know, call me crazy... Occam is lathering up again I think.

Well, maybe they won't let her out of the bag in this one. Since she's done so many things in the past, they might be a bit fed up.

Maybe she's just a girl who has a friend who is in terrible pain and she wants someone to help her make it stop? In the first panel she looks more pissed off at the MIBs then desperate for help. Personally I think it's a mixture of genuine concern for Reynardine and a calculated ploy.

I agree with Casey - I didn't get the impression she was trying to con them at all when I first read the comic, and I still don't see any convincing evidence of it (not ruling out the possibility, of course). I understood her expression in the first panel to be a continuation of her anger towards Jack for how he betrayed her friend (and, by extension, her). Also, keep in mind that she very likely has no clue how to free Rey from the trap on her own without potentially making things worse, meaning that her only hope at this point is in gaining the cooperation of the Court.

She has real concern for Renard, but the emotional shift from Panel 1 to Panel 4, as well as the portrayal of disjointedness by Panels 2 and 3, lend credence to the notion that she's making a conscious effort to play the difficult circumstances as best she can.

Also, keep in mind that she very likely has no clue how to free Rey from the trap on her own without potentially making things worse, meaning that her only hope at this point is in gaining the cooperation of the Court. Well maybe conning isn't the best term for it, but it does seem like she is attempting to turn their suspicions away from Reynardine and her. First of all, the determined expression in panel one. I read it less as an annoyed expression and more as a "darn...the situation is getting bad-what can I do to make Renard and I seem less like culprits? Have to do something" thoughtful expression. Then, in the second panel, you see her just standing there, and we are left facing her back, and get a feeling of well...blankness. We can't see any emotions or reaction as she was being called, which suggest that she's thinking. It's really the combination of panel one and two that gives me the impression that she's thinking hard about something. Then with panel three and four, the abrupt change in behavior suggests that her response to the court enforcement is connected with whatever she was thinking. I just inferred that she was in some part "acting", since at this point of the comic Kat and Annie have been getting pretty wary of most of the staff at the court. Even if they are the only people who can help Renard, I think Annie is forced to consider every interaction she has with them now in regard to what she knows, meaning she believes that she has to act more helpless to prevent any increase in suspicion...........I don't know exactly how to put what I'm thinking in words. Beatfox is right. Annie knows that her only hope is to to gain cooperation from the court. Ahhh it's getting so intense

Dang elppa... I know they say a picture is worth a thousand words, but, if you can read all of that into some cartoon drawings, you should work for the FBI or something.
(This is a tongue in cheek way of saying that I think people are reading too much into things, as tends to be the norm.)

They used his "demon" name! (They used his "demon" name)
I think it's safe to assume that they're going to consider him a threat, first and foremost.

Hello. I think her expression in the first panel is her still angry at Jack. Panels like this one show a succession of events in a way that isn't very clear. You'd imagine if it was a video we would see her being angry, then being startled(maybe) by the Court staff and then realizing she needs help.
