[702] I just love the second panel. The art is beautiful.

Panel 5 is now one of my favorite drawings of Annie. There's been a stylistic change recently, I think, and I like it.

haha, oh Jack. His unhinged enthusiasm about "Did you know there's a kid in your class who can talk to animals?" is hilarious.
Reynardine's downcast expression in panel 6 is great too.

"None of my business." For some reason, I automatically feel more sympathetic to any character who speaks those words. There's just something about about it that appeals to me. Maybe it's the apathetic tone, maybe it's knowing when to not get involved, I don't know.
Yeah, Jack is great in this page.

Hey, who can talk to animals again?
It looks like Jack is going to start to turn into a Zimmy pretty soon. But I think he's a cool guy, sneaks away from school and doesn't afraid of anything.

I auto-rage against any character who comes close to saying something super-important but then suddenly changes their mind. "...Ah! That switch on the doomsday machine..what if we..." "What was that?" "Oh, n-no, nevermind, it was nothing."

"None of my business." [...] Yeah, Jack is great in this page. This may even have a good chance to save him from being savaged by Carver. Hey, who can talk to animals again? Paz? It looks like Jack is going to start to turn into a Zimmy pretty soon. But I think he's a cool guy, sneaks away from school and doesn't afraid of anything. Seems to be almost old good Jack sometimes. And then again...

I love how Jack acts like a hybrid of the court and the forest. He uses the Internet, but he can sense being spyed on by the blinker stone; he plays with laser cows, but hates the court authority.

What I like is how Rey is all when Jack mentions him trying to kill her. For whatever reason, he feels guilty about that now.

I somehow doubt she'll 'savage' him when they're both in a tiny rubber raft traversing an artificial lake (of unknown depth) to a power station that's probably full of all kinds of horrible nasty industrial equipment and science experiments that are bound to try and kill them. It would disrupt unit cohesion ;D. In any event, it isn't as if he's said anything offensive, he's just stated the facts in a rather blunt way.

Someone who can talk to animals? Fah. Lame power. Anyone can talk to animals. Now, understanding when an animal talks back, that's a good power.

I think "hey" is actually the only word a dog really needs, and it seems pretty accurate for everything.

Someone is begging to be thrown into the lake.
The school seems to be better informed about stuff than I thought.

Hmm... it may a kid that hasn't been named yet.
But if it's Paz, it might be an extra explanation for her liking for cows, and her disappointment when it wasn't a real one.

Cue rampant speculation about which student can talk to animals in five, four......
(For some reason I'm guessing Janet)
I love it when Tom draws Reynardine in super cure dot-eyes mode, as in the second panel here.

I missed that one until you pointed it out. It's interesting that Annie gets angry and Rey feels sad. So Rey's downcast face is a reaction to what? 1) How he tried to kill Annie? (Panel 4) 2) How Annie's Dad ditched her? (Panel 5) 3) Panel 6 I'm thinking it's #2.

I wonder with whom this child is speaking, since there don't seem to be any animals in the court, except for the occasional ant which Annie murders to summon ketrak.

This chapter is looking as good as the one with Sky Watcher. Jack's a really interesting character.

How generally available is that information on the school computers? I don't think it would be a good idea to let the students have access to that level of information about each other, in case they abused what they learned about their classmates. I hope that it was a "teachers only" part of the records that Jack was hacking into.

Paz would make sense, she said "let's see how pretty you are" to the cows (was that the translation? Provably not, I fail at referencing). In any case, i think the idea of Paz with the ability to speak to animals is pretty awesome. So would she be tri-lingual then? Do animals all have one language? Guess we'll find out

Maybe it's the apathetic tone, maybe it's knowing when to not get involved, I don't know. Thing is, he's already read all about it on the computer, so he doesn't need to ask any more. He's already made it his business, and possibly knows more than Annie about her father's disappearance if the Court is still keeping records on Anthony.

In any event, it isn't as if he's said anything offensive, he's just stated the facts in a rather blunt way. Perhaps it depends on whether she see it as only touching on a sore place in a rude way or as a disrespect. < if you see a giant spider > < don't forget to scream > ;D and possibly knows more than Annie about her father's disappearance if the Court is still keeping records on Anthony. I thought Anthony is like a cat. He walks by himself and no one knows when he's going to appear or disappear.

I think Rey's downcast expression is because of Jack mentioning him trying to kill Annie, not because of her father as he mentions that after Rey looks sad. It might stay because of Jack mentioning Annie's dad, but he isn't originally sad because of that.
Ten bucks Annie will now try to have Kat help her hack into the computers. Anyone, Anyone?
