[691]"Heel?" As in, "Jack is such a heel?"

Here's the Wiki article for those unfamiliar with the English legend (as I was, before Googling it).

JACK.
And, also, legend I knew nothing about previously. Tasty stuff.

ZIMMY! (I hope).
A chapter about Jack and Zimmy together would be even better.

Here's the Wiki article for those unfamiliar with the English legend (as I was, before Googling it). I will not accept the upcoming chapter as complete unless it contains Jack wearing the same outfit as the guy in the picture on that article. According to the article. Jack is Batman. "beneath a black cloak, he wore a helmet and a tight-fitting white garment like an "oilskin". Many stories also mention a "Devil-like" aspect. Spring Heeled Jack was said to be tall and thin, with the appearance of a gentleman, and capable of making great leaps." I refuse to let my worship of Batman be soiled by the jerkitude that is Jack Hyland

Anyone care to guess if Hyland is going to display abilities like Spring Heeled or just play a scary prank in the same vein as the Spring Heeled Jack stunts, perhaps in misdirected retaliation for Antimony scaring him with Reynard?

This will surely be interesting. Also if you have some time over the weekend there is this novel up on the Australian project Gutenberg. Edit: which obviously also is linked from the wiki article. My efforts are in vain.

The first thing I thought about when I read the wiki article was not Jack but Eglamore. Jumping high and looking like a gentleman. We'll see what's to come but for now Eglamore is the only one who fulfill those things.

I have a book which starts one its sections like this: "Was Spring-heeled Jack, the mysterious monster who terrorized Victorian England, really a misunderstood alien left behind by a UFO?" I love this book, it's hilarious.
So, yay, Jack. Maybe we'll get to find out what the heck's going on?

Duh! even though I did think "Spring Heeled Jack" it didn't occur to me that this could be about Jack. There's even a big spider, and I still missed the connection My own speculation before going to the forum, was that this could be about Eglamore and his predecessors' ability to jump abnormally high. Hmm, could Jack have sniffed up some secrets of the "dragon slayers" on one of his nightly explorations? Edit: Or maybe the "Zimmingham curse" (or whatever to call it) has the potential of evoking that kind of abilities. That could be the reason Zimmy was brought to the Court in the first place...

Well it could be worse for Antimony; at least this chapter's not called "The Ripper". Then again it could be better ("No fat for Sprat" anyone?).

I feel silly, when I first saw the cover, I though we were going to learn more about the insect guide whose name escapes me. But it looks like it's about Jack!

I guessed/hoped it would be about Jack because of the spiderwebs, but I have never heard of this myth before until I read the wiki-article.

Time for some etheric arachnicide. By far one of the more interesting subsets of the extermination profession. I imagine the practice being similar to 'Ghostbusters'. And by 'similar' I'm basically imagining Dan Aykroyd kicking down doors and shootin' some crazy glowing bug things. (Except the chapter isn't going to be that) Was there just the one spider or were there more? I cannot for the life of me recall.
