"I think you detect a hint of shut your face" That is the most awesome line ever. I would put it under my avatar, but I think it would look kinda confrontational out of context. My first thought was that this was something Tom might have said on Twitter. It’s his style. But then, why shouldn’t our heroine learn a bit or two from her creator?

Maybe the students are changing out of their haptic feedback suits because the next simulation won't involve Dr Disaster's holodeck. They'll have to use their imaginations, like savages. Please let it be DnD! Please let it be DnD! Please let it be DnD!

What if it's a sim that has the mediums dealing with a situation where someone has been possessed by a hostile creature? That will certainly provide for some interesting situations to mediate.

Not really, wouldn't bringing order to dice rolls be more along the lines of making them come up in patterns rather than rolling high (there's no real order in rolling 20s, it's just the desired outcome), sort of like; "OK, roll 3d4 12 times and pick the 6 highest values for your stats." "OK, erm...3, 6, 9..."

No, I think that if Smitty rolled dice, they would fall on any number... but they would always land perfectly stacked on top of each other.

Please let it be DnD! Please let it be DnD! Please let it be DnD! Now I'm getting the image of Annie holding up one of those outfits that they customarily seem to dress female adventurers in in stereotypical "Dungeons & Dragons" art and saying sharply, "I am *not* wearing this", followed by Reynardine giving a disappointed sigh - unfortunately for him, Annie overhears that, and Reynardine gets stuck with another few days of enforced silence.

Apologies for not going with the joke, but the mention of D&D just makes me think of a territory covered far too diligently by far too many other webcomics.
Or in other words: The memes are coming! The memes are coming!

The space opera genre covered in the spacemonauts adventure could fit that description as well (if not in webcomics, then in other media). But I think that this upcoming simulation will be a lot more serious, and more relevant to the main story - that it won't be a parody.

You know a "meme" isn't just "anything that's popular on the internet"... The term “meme” was coined more than 30 years ago, long before the internet became a mass phenomenon. Also long before most people talking about memes on the internet were even born.
