Query: would that be Samus in suit and helmet or without suit and helmet (and presumably in other clothes, shush you and get thee out the gutter)? Almost certainly in suit and helmet, if recent discussions among Samus fangirls about the upcoming Metroid game are any indication. Also, relevant fanart.

Annie could've used a witty comeback like that when she was battling the Enigmarons.

P.S.: What kind of "simulation" is Jones planning, that does not involve the imaging chamber and haptic suits?

P.S.: What kind of "simulation" is Jones planning, that does not involve the imaging chamber and haptic suits? It may be that it is a simulation in the imaging chamber that requires haptic suits, but that it's not a SPACEMONAUTS!(tm) adventure, so they need different costumes.

Annie could've used a witty comeback like that when she was battling the Enigmarons. Maybe she's just spent enough time with Kat since to have some inspiration, as Reynardine suggests.

P.S.: What kind of "simulation" is Jones planning, that does not involve the imaging chamber and haptic suits? The surprising kind that makes you think it's not a simulation after all but then it is a simulation but then it isn't! Parley continues to wear her jumpsuit very well. In panel 1 she doesn't look just three years older than Annie (or are those three specifically the fabled years of teenage growth?).

This is a good question... If I've done my math right (and I hope I have), at this point Annie is, or will soon turn, 12. That would make Smitty 14 and Parley 15.... again, if I recall correctly. Now Parley is pretty much as tall as Jones (Parley is leaning over a little in frame 1) and as I recall, that would be just about right, for a 15 year old to be as tall as an adult. Plus I think Parley is a little bit taller than average... part of her tomboyish looks. And I don't know if maybe Annie is a little bit short for her age... when Eglamore escorted her across the bridge to Gillitie in Chapter 20, he dwarfed her. But Annie is a little taller than Kat. I don't know... in my own experience around teenage kids, I would be inclined to say that Tom's got their relative height just right.

Huh. Reynardine is acting unusually comfortable around Annie and the others. He's acting a bit more like Coyote by the day.
Although I have to say, something about today's page seems a bit... off. Either the expression, or delivery of some of the dialogue, something about it just registers as not right, in terms of storytelling.
Maybe somebody more articulate with art terms could point it out to be?

toy!Reynardine is flippant and lecherous. Mishmash was right in the last page's thread. I am really creeped out by the lecherousness today.
And, uh, who told Parley about Reynardine...?

And, uh, who told Parley about Reynardine...? GREETINGS, PLUSHY DEMON! I hadn't thought about it, but that's an excellent point. o.o;; How and how much does Parley know? I assume Smit does, too, of course.

If I've done my math right (and I hope I have), at this point Annie is, or will soon turn, 12. That would make Smitty 14 and Parley 15.... again, if I recall correctly. Miri helped me with my math. It seems that during year 7, kids are 11-12, usually turning 12 during the school year. That would meant that Annie is either 12 or 13 now (depending on when her birthday is... we're about halfway through her Year 8 now) and that would make Andrew between 14 and 15, and Parley between 15 and 16. My earlier math was a little offset due to the fact that I have a summer birthday, so I never changed age during the course of a year. I did end up graduating high school still at age 17 though, which is kind of cool, I guess.

And, uh, who told Parley about Reynardine...? Both Parley and Andrew had seen him on this occasion. Also, I think that when Annie is allowed to bring Reynardine with her, the other students would have to be educated about what he is first. He’s supposed to be harmless now, but you never know.

That's a fantastic point mjh. I don't know why I never really thought about that, but, after that meeting I would expect that just about everyone in the story knows who Reynardine is, and that he is 'beholden' to Antimony. Well... not these guys, obviously...

"I think you detect a hint of shut your face" That is the most awesome line ever. I would put it under my avatar, but I think it would look kinda confrontational out of context. That is awesome. Nice drawing.

HA HA HA oh my god, yes, that's exactly what I meant to link, but apparently I missed actually hitting ctrl-c when I had that page open, and instead linked a YouTube video that I was showing to the gunnerkrigg fans in Skype... how hideously amusing... *hides face*

Maybe the students are changing out of their haptic feedback suits because the next simulation won't involve Dr Disaster's holodeck. They'll have to use their imaginations, like savages.
But on the other hand, it's the one sim that Smitface can't ruin.

So Jones thinks that Reynard will find the next situation interesting. Can anybody think of any interests Reynard has that might be a clue to the sim? I can only think of a few: - He is interested in Surma
- He seems to have a fair bit of knowledge of etherics and the politics of the Court
- He could guess a great deal about Diego from very little information
- He is very protective of Annie (and kind of stalkerish).
And then there are his...less polite interests. I'm not seeing anything that would suggest the nature of the next simulation. Oh hey, post #100. Cool

I speculated that it might have something to do with his past before he became a body-snatcher, when he was a talking fox and the lead character in the beast-fables of medieval Europe. But that's only a speculation at this point.
